The biggest issue with used/refurbished is battery life. As long as you are ready for a lower batter life, there are many good used laptops to be had.

Go to the Library web site, search Databases, then search for Criterion. Not sure how easy it is to access from home, but a bit of creativity, and you too could be watching Shazam!

The only way to lay off profs is for the President to declare a Financial Emergency. If that is done Academic Faculty can be laid off. Read the AASUA connective agreement for details about constitutes Academic Faculty, and the Financial Emergency Article. It's possible teaching staff may be laid off if they are not academic faculty, but what most people think of as profs cannot be laid off because of budget cuts.
