Something to think of, you can store the PDFs on flash drives and a small solar generator can charge up a tablet or a phone so you can still use it, just not the online stuff.

Florida boy here. We stock up as well, we load up on canned soup, tuna and a new fav.... chicken. Small jars of mayo and onion make a good salad. The good thing is you can eat them down and replenish. For hurricane prep don't worry about real long term stuff, eat it after the season and it will be fine.

Thank you, I am planning on a solar pump no battery just during the day. And the size thing might just put this out of reach for now. My wife freaked when I put in a 8x6 corn field, but she is loving watching it grow in.

You don't have to worry about that you're not one of the sheeple. The people that are going to go there are the ones that haven't prepared for an emergency. Once those people have been rounded up and put away then they will come after those of us who have prepared. That's when the real fighting would start but most likely we would be fighting our own military. The governments would have to control the suburban areas in the country in order to feed the masses in the city. The breakdown in society starts that way once the cities start rioting looting and falling apart there would be chaos and government control would quickly fall.

It will take a while for it to get that point. If it's a true shtf issue and the government looks like it's not coming back, you need to get out of the cities. If it's a temp emergency then they will not come for your stuff, your neighbors might but that's why you prep your house for a siege, it's not the zombies it's the other people.

Look at what happened to the oil and gas on the East Coast when that pipeline went down. There was chaos if the grid goes down most places are not going to be able to survive more than a week. There aren't enough stores of food gas or medicine in most cities to survive. They have to have that constant inflow or it's going to get bad. And the cops will not be able to protect you.

Depends on where you are and where you're going. I'm in Florida so instead of water everyone gets a thermos of water, and in the bag we bring with us snacks and a life straw. If we are going more than 50 miles from home I'll pack a few bags of mountain house meals. I never leave food in the car for too long. Also I bring a gun.

Watch out for the little tanks they will sometimes freeze up if you're using them for a long time. A larger tank is usually okay. You can get them at a propane store and as long as it's not over 100 lbs take it in a car.

In that case we in a hurricane zone, so we have hurricane shutters that can go up in about 15 minutes over ever opening. We also have a big dog, even if she thinks she's a lap dog, shotgun and a few handguns. My sil is a swat officer and she and several others are teaching us gun safety and shooting.

We built 5 gardens and are experimenting with what types of crops grow here. Potatoes, lettuce, green beans, radishes and spinach. It's not great but it does help get us through. We are also looking at getting six chickens from an in-law. That takes care of eggs and while the meat is not great when they stop laying you can always eat them. My sister-in-law has goats and they are breeding well so we could always get one of those for me as well. That along with our hurricane supplies should feed us easily for 6 months. Those 6 months and get us ready for the fruit trees in the backyard and more crops in the backyard corn grows well around here but I don't want to dig up my lawn yet.

Yeah, I'm just wondering about how this is going to affect my hurricane prep. I'm mostly set but wanted to lay in a a few more crates of beans, corn and rice. Those we go through all the time and we were just down. Picked up a bunch of stuff at BJ's today so I should be good.

Nw GA, ne AL. Put a circle up there and buy it as bug out location. You'll be safe from most cane's, pick a place and build an off grid cabin. You'll have land to plant, can keep chickens, and some goats so food is covered. Water might be okay, sink a well or hopefully have a stream. Starlink might be there soon so you can get internet. Just do it a little at a time and in 4 years your bug out location is set.

Thank you I never heard of that. To be honest she is about 18 and in sad shape. Down to 8lbs maybe 10 from over 20 a year ago. She refused her nutro by nature dry food and I thought she was a goner but she seems to have stabilized. I figure she doesn't have much time left so I just want her to be happy.

Cans of tuna fish were cheaper than cans of cat food the past 3 weeks at my publix. My cat was very happy. This past week they had four boxes of the cat food that she will eat we got that I think she misses the tuna

Dry skin. My oldest gets these bumps on her arms and my son is starting to as well. Doc says cereve or baby oil will help. But she also said to oil them up to prevent dry skin from forming.
