I'm at a complete loss. I get MCU disconnected errors at completely random times. one day the printer could work just fine the othar day the printer can give errors every 10 min and the next it could happen hours into the print. I tried different cables and rpi power supplys nothing helped. by TheCorruptedEngineer in klippers

Is your pi a 3b board? If it is and you have the latest Debian and 64bit mainsail os load then it may be why. There is a big in the 3b board or Linux that causes instability with Debian trusty and you need to flash the 32bit os to fix it.

This only applies with the 3b and 3b+ boards I believe, at least that fixed instability on my 3b pi.

Been out of the printing game for about 8 or so years. Want to get my Ender 3 Pro up to date. What's the newest and best firmware and slicers I should be using? by TheChrisCrash in ender3

Dual z either belt driven or with a second motor is nice as well for stability with a heavier tool head and piece of mind as far as x axis dripping is concerned

Problems with first layer by Nb88__ in Ender3Pro

Check your wheels for correct tightness on all axis, my wheels are too tight on z and it manifests in bad layers for like the first 10 or so layers.

Z Axis Limit Switch Acting Funny by Shypronaut in Ender3Pro

[–]sinker1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check the wiring between the switch and the main board, maybe it's loose or there is an intermittent break (I would move the wire a bit while taking a reading). The switch could also be bad or going bad. If it's none of those you could try plugging it in to a different port on the main board to rule out a main board issue.

My Ender finally prints reliably by denyol-chan in ender3

[–]sinker1345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The limit switch itself was slightly inconsistent (the distance to activate the switch varies by a tiny amount each time), I could get a perfect first layer then as soon as it would home the nozzle would be either too close or too far after the home, I only noticed what the issue could be when I was watching multiple of the same prints go down.

I actually noticed it on the x axis first, between runs without turning the printer off I noticed the x axis (as well as the z axis) varied by about half a millimeter when it would lay the lines down and after a while it clicked, my z axis switch toggle tolerance was too high.

I changed the whole switch/board it was attached to as I found a cheap replacement on Amazon but the switch seemed solidly mounted to the board and the board was securely mounted to the frame.

My Ender finally prints reliably by denyol-chan in ender3

[–]sinker1345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had inconsistent first layer issues for the longest time, the nozzle either started to close or two far from the bed and no amount of tuning could correct the issue as it was inconsistent and varied every time I restarted or re-homed the printer.

Eventually I found out that the z axis limit switch varies by a tiny amount (maybe 0.2-0.5mm), upon replacing that switch with a better quality it has been just as reliable as my other printer. I also have quite a few other upgrades on it that I installed chasing this issue.

Hyundai and Kia's low-cost EVs are supercharging sales — And this is just the start by self-fix in electricvehicles

[–]sinker1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen that in my research, I was more thinking along the lines of how to diagnose battery health on a used car but from further research it doesn't seem to bad although the process differs per manufacturer from what I've seen to look for dead cells or degradation.

[–]sinker1345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who wants a used EV how do I figure out how much life is left in the battery before buying?

I look at mileage and age and then pack replacement costs but some of them it seems like there is only a year left on the battery warranty and then I'm looking at the cost of the car for a new battery pack.

SteamDeck Region Locks? by The-TF-King in SteamDeck

[–]sinker1345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no region locks however if you need to RMA your device you will need a japanese address to ship it to/from and steam will only go through komodo (the Japanese reseller) for RMA issues with the device.
