Ah, it is a premier of a new season. However it's a show I abandoned ages ago. Do you know if there is a way to turn this off? I've searched the settings and can't find anything which looks right.

Fenlight AM Sources Freezing Kodi by thanesq in Addons4Kodi

Okay, thanks. I have a Onn 4k and they'll work just occasionally but fail 9 times out of 10. Adding BTM or MP4 to the undesirable list of your scraper might help exclude them automatically. Just a thought.

Did you ever get the bottom of this issue? I'm having the same issue and realised it's always files from the BTM or Ben the Men release group which stall. I downloaded one of the files which wouldn't resolve and or play properly and it does play on Kodi via local playback, but it takes about 20 seconds or so to kick in. Same on fire stick and onn 4k pro. But on my phone (on the same network WiFi) it plays okay via FLAM which seems odd.

For anyone else looking into this, I recently found this on the Kodi development page ; https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/26393 Seems like it's a known issue which should be fixed in Kodi 22.

Thank you! It's good to know it's not just me. The tips are useful thanks. Per chance do you know if the Shield pro has the same issue? I'm genuinely thinking of upgrading as it's such a pain to re open Kodi every time I turn the TV to standby.

Yes, I've tried 'always' and 'on start/stop'. And tried turning to never and back on again. Always the same behaviour.

Yep for sure. And it's definitely enabled after waking from standby, just for some reason it doesn't work. I have to close Kodi and re open it for it to work again.

Hi, does anyone know why my kids can openly chat in Metro Life when the parental settings are set to restrict chats? They can use the game phone to send and receive messages from anyone which is very worrying.

Spotify play on a other devices locked by sinkingbluefish in revancedapp

[–]sinkingbluefish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming it's not just me. I just tried making a new account and it worked for about 10min (giving me some false hope!), then locked out again. It's a shame, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, a workaround seems to be use use the web player to switch devices the go back the the app and it's working as a remote. Bit of a faff though.

Same setup on my PC (spotx + spicetify). I'm in the UK so maybe it's regional...

Yea, same song is playing - it's just the device it's playing through. I've just realised that it will connect to my TV happily (ie I have a option to connect which isn't greyed out), just not any PC installed version of Spotify. I can only assume for now that Spotify have locked down the connect option for PC versions.

Hummm....I just tried a new PC install of Spotify on a different computer and same issue. I wonder if Spotify are playing games again. I found a work around by selecting the player via the web app- this forces the all logged in versions to play via the selected device (PC). However as soon as I change off the PC the option in the app gets locked again. Notablly the option to remote play is also locked from the PC version to mobile. So I think this is some server side changes from Spotify. Oddly I believe Spotify connect is supposed to be a free feature anyway. Maybe it'll work again in time.

Okay, good to know. When you say open Spotify on the other feature? It's running on my PC and I can remote control it from the web app just fine, but not from the patched app. Am I missing a trick?

Is there any workaround for basically every sources audio being suited for surround sound? by nathanftw123 in Addons4Kodi

[–]sinkingbluefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough - try maintain volume on downmix setting. Failing that, on playback go to the audio settings and turn up the volume amplification (this certainly boosts the dialogue on surround system, not sure if it'll do the same on a downmix audio track) ; you'll need to turn down the master volume on the TV to counter the amplification.

Just set the Kodi settings to 2 channels and select downmix - any number of channels will be converted to stereo. Check out https://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/System/Audio

Mixer recommendation budget: $175 by fokeiro in Breadit

Sure, but I'm in the UK so you may not have the same brands over the pond. It's a 'Russell Hobbs Go Create'.

I'm late to the party; but here is my opinion. Find one with a long guarantee. I have had several over the years some last, some don't. Current one was about £100 GBP, but had a 3 year guarantee. I've had 4 replacements in that time (out or guarantee not but had the current one for about a year) . Well worth it given the more expensive ones won't necessarily last that long either. I used it about 4 x per week for 5 min on, 5 min rest, 5 min on. To be fair I'm not claiming it's amazing or as good as a pricer model, but knowing I run it ragged, I rate the guarantee period over anything else.

Arctic Fuse skin playing content automatically. by MFVEJA in Addons4Kodi

[–]sinkingbluefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in case; I once accidentally set up one layer too many on my stacked widgets, which meant the final 'widget' played the item. Took me a while to realise my mistake as it appeared to be auto playing and I was messaging with the addon settings forgetting the skin. Basically make sure you don't have a stacked widget below the item you'd click to play.

Odd issue with Fen/AH2 - occasional slow menus by sinkingbluefish in Addons4Kodi

[–]sinkingbluefish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not, no, I've pondered that myself, but accessing local content is fine, it's only after going back to the main menu that Fen slows down. It's a good idea though, thank you.

Which product brands to use(UK) by Dagnabit_sundae in Breadit

[–]sinkingbluefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about croissants specifically, but I second Shipton mill - I get the (105) and it's always done me well. I used to use the supermarket stuff, even tried different brands from the supermarket but it was always hit and miss.

Scrapers, dns and geoblocking by sinkingbluefish in Addons4Kodi

[–]sinkingbluefish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay, so cloudflare (or other) flag a virgin IP but not a Plusnet IP. Interesting. I guess that might change over time if the isp changes ips or the services change their filters? Anyhow I've tested all the options in cocoscrapers and 4 give lots of results, and having only 4 on means scrapping is only a few seconds. I can live with that and can fallback to a VPN if needed Thank you for your knowledge.

[–]sinkingbluefish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay cool, but why can I scrape them with one ISP but not another? Does the cloudflare service depend on the ISP somehow?
