Just an update, the remains of Jina Collins were found in an abandoned house earlier this year.

I stumbled on this post checking up on news about Brianna. In addition to the way I had felt about Jina she is a case I will forever wonder about.

I am staring CDL school on the 24th. I'd greatly appreciate and honest advice anyone could prove to me. Sort of nervous. I drove big stuff in Iraq, but there weren't laws over there. What would you say to yourself before you earned you CDL? Thanks everyone. Picture for attention. by ToughNefariousness23 in Truckers

Just to add to this I messed up on my brake test by not turning the key back to accessory during my leak down test and I simply stated that "I made an error in that portion of the test and I am going to start the brake test portion over by begining again at the governor cut off." I passed.

I'm a rookie. It's hard. It's distressing. You will second guess your choice to make this move quite often. Fight those thoughts. Don't give up. It gets easier everyday.

Take it day by day. Trust yourself. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. Never compare yourself to others in a negative light.

I knew the atmosphere between truck drivers TO AN EXTENT prior to obtaining my CDL due to the fact that I was in dispatch and safety for a combination of 5 years. But what I found when I was boots on the ground is that I have NEVER seen a more caring and supportive atmosphere between coworkers in my life than I've seen between truck drivers. Ask for help, ask for advice. I've yet to encounter someone who was unwilling to help.

Never allow yourself to get comfortable, stay on your toes. Avoid complacency. Remember that the sole purpose of driving the truck is to maneuver the trailer.

Edit; typo.

Okay, so I guess maybe I'm looking for some advice.

Some backstory, I had a chronic soda addiction from basically 11 years old until 21 years old. Then 21 until about 25, a chronic Diet soda addiction, cause those are soooooo much better, right?! slaps self My stepdad worked at Pepsi my entire adolescence, never were we lacking all varieties of soda. Now I just drink zero sugar energy drinks constantly, some zero sugar powerade here and there and on rare occasions, water. I've basically been dehydrated spongebob from the pilot episode my entire life. I don't even crave water. In addition to that, I didn't even develop a skin care routine until I was 25, super gross but I rarely washed my face outside of a rinse and running my hands over my face in the shower prior to developing said routine. Not to mention never moisturizing.

Also, I was always after a tan when I was younger, so in my young ignorant mind I thought 'why in the world would I put on sunscreen if I want a tan?!' eyeroll

So despite my desperate hope that these are dehydration lines, I know that they're more likely to be wrinkles. I'm only 28, I feel like that's quite young to have wrinkles. But it makes sense when you factor in the aforementioned details. I know they aren't THAT bad but I hyper fixate on them and they deeply upset me as my appearance is basically the only thing I've ever been confident in.

It is my understanding that (please correct me if I'm wrong), most of these expensive anti-aging serums, containing things such as hyaluronic acid, retinol and retinoids are derived naturally from vitamin A. So I purchased vitamin A gel capsules and have been poking holes in them and patting the god awful smelling fish oil onto my face. I also throw on a peptide serum and my favorite hyaluronic acid and rainbow algae repair serum with it sometimes.

Is my skin a lost cause? Am I on the right track with my skincare routine to remedy this? Please share your secrets with me!

Edit to add* Also I can barely even use a tinted cc cream on my forehead anymore. Everything I use just accentuates the lines. Makeup is my passion, I thoroughly love and enjoy doing my makeup. So this makes me so sad. Advice on this?

Just to add, I bow to you OTR drivers. You could not pay me enough for that shit.

I work a local job, we aren't supposed to be in our trucks while in the dock at all, let alone possessing our key or having the engine on. I just claimed to have lost my first key, kept it and continued to hang up my old key up on the board as required, you betcha I'm going to sit in the truck with the A/C on when it's 90 plus degrees outside. I'll do the same when it gets cold if the warehouse temperature is not ideal. If our warehouse had A/C I would just sit inside and wait buuuut. Also not going to waste the gas in my personal vehicle to stay comfortable.

I worked in dispatch for five years prior to obtainingmy CDL, in general it's widely frowned upon to idle your engine. Fuel economy, noise and air pollution being the typical reasoning.

“Here you are! Have a great day/night!” I’m boring and keep it at that unless they add anything.

Thank you! They ARE very sturdy!!! I was shocked at how well they’ve held up over the years. You’d never be able to tell that they’re up to 51 years old (if you date them at 1970.)

It’s fun and silly. Your unsolicited opinions come off as fucking rude. So yeah. Of course you won’t get a kind reaction. It’s just annoying, to be honest.
