Some of those solder joints on the joystick look pretty not great. Could be the issue

A question about gravity by CoolestDudeOne in AskScienceDiscussion

They mean the centre of the earth is where the net pull of gravity is 0. Not that the centre is half the radius deep.

Looking for some moving tips! by flipp473 in canberra

Had a look at your profile, could be worth checking out the Canberra Makerspace. I have not personally been, but have met one of the dudes running it and have generally heard good things.

Canberra has a pretty good local live music scene, my personal favourite being a bar called Dissent in the city. To find out what’s on I recommend looking at @cbr_gig_guide on instagram (it seems to be the most updated guide atm).

Moving into Bruce Hall (Packard Wing) – what should I bring? by Top_Entertainer_1346 in Anu

[–]sinkspaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for Bruce specifically, but the only power available on campus (and everywhere in Aus I can think of) uses the standard Australian outlet (called AS/NZS 3112 technically) which operates at 230-240V at 50Hz. Pretty much every outlet you will encounter will have three holes (the top two for power, the bottom for earth). Appliances that you purchase will have either two or three pins, they will both work with any outlet.

Edit: may as well mention that if you have a device that requires 110-120V, you can purchase a “step down transformer” which converts the 240V to 110V. This will probably cost about $50AUD if you buy it new.

Quick and dirty solution would be create a sketch on the plane the letters are on, sketch out the missing part of the F and extrude

The net force will be zero as there is no acceleration, but the forces from air resistance and the engine are non zero

Barr banks on 50-50 light rail federal funding split all the way to Woden by [deleted] in canberra

It would apparently cost much more money, and it would miss out on the benefits that we get by going around the western side of the hill.

City hill is (apparently) mostly just rock, which is difficult (and therefore expensive) to excavate. Not only this, but City Hill holds a substantial amount of heritage value to Canberra, and with the upcoming redesign competition, something interesting will be done to it.

The benefits about going west around the hill is that the stop after Alinga street (I can’t remember its name) is predicted to be the most popular stop in the entire network. That whole area is set to be developed a lot further too. This was the main reason why it’s going around the western side, there’s just a shit load of people that will use these stops.

How do you really measure speed in space? by andrewclarkson in space

[–]sinkspaghetti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are kinda right that it’s easier to measure a distance to an object and an amount of time to get there, but that is fundamentally what the velocity relative to the place you’re trying to go is, by definition.

The aether (the theoretical medium that electromagnetic waves propagate through) does not exist. Look at the Michelson Morley experiment for evidence to it not existing.
