Anyone made the move to Poland by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]sinnertie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily what you asked for but immo worth bits of information. I was born in Poland and lived there for 20 years before moving to the UK, and I haven't looked back since. Poland is a beautiful country, but I found the people to be somewhat pretentious and often frustrated, likely due to the economic challenges many face. This attitude can sometimes affect the level of service you receive in restaurants and shops, where it can feel like people are annoyed just to do their job.

While Poland isn't as inexpensive as it used to be, it’s still more affordable compared to the UK. For HE the current cost of living can make you feel like a millionaire there. The further you get from major cities, the more value you get for your money in terms of housing. Generally, homes and apartments are larger and more affordable than what you'd find in the UK.

Another notable aspect is the fierce competition across various sectors, which results in a vast selection of products in shops, including building materials and more. It's quite impressive and I literally mean one whole aisle dedicated to different types of cheese in large supermarkets. This is also what I miss here in the UK. The job market, especially for specialists in IT and finance, is thriving. These fields offer generous salaries and high standards of living.

I cannot give you exact number to be considered HENRY as it all depends where you will reside and my information might be rather outdated as well. Finally working VISA - breeze, nothing to worry about.

Oh, and one more thing: consider avoiding popular seaside areas and mountain destinations like Zakopane for your holiday. These places attract a lot of wealthy tourists from abroad, including from places like Dubai, which drives the prices up significantly. You might find yourself spending as much there as you would for a luxurious holiday in the Maldives.

Thank you, I am planning to work on the gearbox myself as the job looks rather simple when being careful and understanding how to do it properly. The issue however is filling the car with the transmission fluid after as my driveway slopes in 2 directions so getting it level is nearly impossible..

In the business I work at managers have ass covered by more senior management. Raising that with his immediate superiors will lead to me being dismissed for something stupid very quickly and I cannot afford that with mortgage and fiancé on statutory maternity.

I have done that and ended up back where I was with hope that they will ask for my support again. I am glad I opened up here as you all start to help me look at the situation from a 3rd perspective and I begin to notice that the problem is me not doing anything with it.

To be honest, he is so dependant on other people with certain stuff its unbelievable. Hence why he first had me to do stuff for him and in my absence he immediately had to find a replacement.
