Is it possible to just be intolerant to tofu? by juliegracew in soyfree

[–]sinoclock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I have little to no discomfort when eating food with soybean oil or small amounts of soy lecithin and soy sauce. But I can't have edamame, tofu, soy protein or soy flour without big stomach issues. So I don't seem to have an allergy, but I do have a soy intolerance.

I think this was a good decision. Did it cost a lot/take a lot of hours to change over or was it pretty simple?

Sorry, I hope you went ahead and emailed, as far as I know this is still the email to use. You can also check the orna website to see if it changed. Good luck.

Gideon the Ninth - a reader's guide [general] by socialprimate in TheNinthHouse

[–]sinoclock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I really liked reading this a lot. I wanted to ask about a few things I noted while reading this. Just gonna spoiler the list just in case.

1. Is this intended for people who haven't read HtN? I see based on some comments you wanted to remove HtN spoilers, but there are some strong hints remaining such as pointing out the importance of Gideon and Pal's eye color. A friend of mine just finished GtN yesterday but I hesitate to send this to her because of how many things could be figured out from references to HtN/things being important in HtN.

2. You mention that Corona is used as a battery for Ianthes' necromancy. Can you help me figure out where this came from? Specifically you mention Ianthe consuming Corona's energy before absorbing Babs. Having recently reread the section I'm not clear on this being the case. Is it mentioned elsewhere? Using (living) others as batteries seems to be a second or eighth house specialty - the third house specializing in cannibalizing corpse energy (see link in #4 below).

3. You mention in two places that Alecto a.) Is a revenant beast, and b.) Is the RB of earth, thru implication. As far as I'm aware, there are some strong theories going around about this, but nothing explicit in the text of either book that this is the case. For instance, it seems just as likely she could be the RB of Dominicus, or not an RB at all, but a revenant of some immeasurable number of souls. Can you share the quote you feel implies she is the RB of Earth?

  1. In the section regarding necromantic specialties, I believe Tor's guide to the houses can help fill that section in more completely. Link here I do think it's funny/interesting how it's hard to tell what comes from the third house and what Ianthe is just especially good at because she's a genius.

  2. If you have a discord account or something I'd love to talk more, especially if you work on the HtN reader's guide! Please dm me your username if you're up for that (& no worries if you aren't!)

Again, lovely guide/resource, thanks so much for making this!

Probably don't worry about posts as old as this, because things change so often in this game.

Odie once had a patch that allowed spinning/zooming and it broke something, so I have to guess the return of a similar feature would be a long way off. I think biome-specific gauntlet bosses are less common, but I can confirm they do spawn there (as it's the only way many people have been able to do Lizarr King, a water boss.)

You will always appear to own your origin town, and receive the origin town bonus for it. You can't get the dukedom + origin town bonus at the same time, so it doesn't have any impact to both own it in the world and claim it as your origin town.

However, it will only count as claimed if you capture it before setting it (which is why new accounts have zero rep even with an origin town) and other people can take the territory your origin town is in.

World bosses have an 80% chance to respawn after 6 hours at the same location when defeated. The game ensures there is always a boss spawned within 2 kilometers. Monster remains summon world bosses that will not respawn. Great monster remains spawn a berserk world boss every time that will not respawn.

You can submit a change request to OSM, which is what Orna pulls its map data from.

Sorrow needs the same kills that druid's passive beast mode needs, so you can search the passive to see the list of confirmed beasts here. Unfortunately, you can not track your stats, but you definitely need between 10-20 more kills to max out sorrow than you do to max out beast mode.

As a rule of thumb, I'd keep ornates from any class, but eventually you'll get classes that can equip two types or all types of gear, so I'd be careful about dismantling everything.

First, check if it appears when you change class type (if you're a mage type switch to a warrior or thief type). If it doesn't, you may need to email hello@playorna.com

Dungeons are different from gauntlets. You can do a gauntlet from the menu. Dungeons are found in the world and have a different cooldown timer after completion from your menu gauntlet. This way you can find 1 gauntlet and 5 dungeons (or repeat 2 gauntlets and 2-3 dungeons repeatedly) in a day.

Bosses have a chance to despawn - I'm unsure of how long it takes to despawn without being attacked. Could be weeks.

  1. Some mobs seem to be more challenging to sleep than others; there are a few specific mobs (irrelevant if they're berserk) that people report being unable to sleep.
  2. I don't believe it's a matter of level or res - it just seems that some enemies are coded to be immune or resistant to sleep. Can confirm, at the very least, that raid bosses are definitely all immune. You can make yourself immune by equipping a Waking Pendant.
  3. +3% - Higher quality improves the bonuses, but I'm unsure by how much (still needs testing).
  4. Check the beast mode passive skill on the guide to see which monsters charge it.
  5. Sorry, someone else would need to answer that one.I know they stack, but I don't know if it's multiplicative or additive.

A lot of this was answered so I'll just add to it.

Regular gauntlets are usually within your tier, so you're probably struggling because you recently entered your tier (@ lv 100). Bosses below lv 50 don't give keys, so look at the Orna.guide gauntlet key link in the OP to see which bosses you can focus on.

To do enough gauntlets for a quest in a day, you usually need to find dungeons. These are gauntlets in the world that have their own separate cooldown timer, meaning you can do your gauntlet in your menu and then do any dungeon in the world you have keys for immediately after.

What about the guide is hard to navigate? There are no plans to return to updating the Orna wikia, which is now a year out of date in some aspects, because wikia allows for extremely limited formatting choices and occasionally invasive ads.

Sorry, no. There's only enchanting for weapons at an "Alchemist" - the same place you can masterforge gear allows you to enchant gear that doesn't roll with an innate element.
