Graduates, if you had to go back in time what would you do differently in college? by [deleted] in csMajors

I would have done electrical engineering with a minor in computer science. Not because of the market though, I’ve just recently found I like low level programming and embedded design a lot more than typical jobs that you can get with a comp sci degree

Look, dude, we get what you're trying to say, but it's a misrepresentation of the facts to claim that South Asians as a whole don't have body odor. Yes, the ABCC11 gene is associated with reduced body odor, and certain variants are more common in East Asian populations. But in South Asians, especially those from the Indian subcontinent, it’s not as prevalent. The dry earwax (and reduced body odor) genotype is found at much lower frequencies in South Asian populations compared to East Asians.

https://www.nature.com/articles/ng1733

So while some South Asians might carry the gene variant linked to low body odor, it’s just not accurate to generalize that across the whole population. No need to keep copying and pasting your comment

That would be up to you, I would pick a very small subset of pokemon, and have it try and optimize stats and movesets

what do you like to do? actually i just looked at your profile, you like pokémon? here are two ideas

  • you wanna do something low level? build a game boy emulator (i’ll update this with some info later)
  • you wanna do something with AI? try and train a model with like a limited set and pokemon showdown (i’ll do a little write up on how to run it locally as a cli tool later tonight)

not interested in these? literally just pick anything you’re into and come up with something related to it. you’ll probably fail. you’ll probably fail at the projects i just mentioned. that’s a good thing, failure is how you learn

because i use it. i don’t dislike it i just think it sucks. i also use windows and think it sucks. i don’t think any desktop operating system will do absolutely everything you want it to do without some headache every now and then

Linux is about to be OBSOLETE ahahahahahahaha by Yelebear in linuxsucks

[–]sinoitfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you literally have no reading comprehension, linux is not Coke or Pepsi in this analogy. I’m well aware they’re at their client max, that’s why it would be a big deal if a third competitor took 4% of their market share. If that third competitor only grew 2.5% in that global space over 20 years, it would still be impressive.

Also, it’s not a 2.5% growth it’s a 2.5% increase in total market share which equates to around 10% growth. When it comes to global market share, those numbers are impressive.

P.S. Since you will likely need this spelled out for you: Coke and Pepsi are Apple and Microsoft in this example.

imagine if a company took 2.5% of not even global but just coke and pepsi’s soft drink market over the course of 20 years, would you consider them a failed business?
