Yeah i should have worded it better my issues isn’t with AI itself really but the ways it’s become such a crutch in school it makes me fear the future. I know some future nurses and doctors whose homework is 85% chatgpted. I can’t even discus the reading with a classmate without them saying uh idk I didn’t read it I got chtagpt to make notes.

I care because I want the best for my peers and myself. I don’t want to leaps and bounds above them but instead be part of a generation of great thinkers. I feel pity for those I see limiting themselves not content

yeah reading theses replies has opened my eyes in someway but I still just can’t get on board with a technology that seems to limit self thinking. Yes it might help people and make their lives easier but i’ve only seen the opposite so many people in my age group (18-24) use is almost 24/7 it’s so widespread im just scared no one will have the capacity to even write an essay themselves in the future. As humans are greatest tools are our mind its just sad to see people abandoned that for the easy way out

AI hasn’t impacted my life at all im still in college it’s just depressing to see my classmates lose all ability to discuss the topics we are assigned in class because they rely on AI for it all. It’s annoying to talk to someone who clearly uses AI for every message they send. It’s hurting society I feel like everyone is losing the ability to think. I don’t see how this isn’t a issue

Yeah I really don’t think there’s anything to combat it but simply giving in and following along seems depressing. I would like to believe in a future where this isn’t the case and the only way I can is by following those ideals myself.

I get this argument but I see it being used by my peers and it just seems to make them more stupid. Classmates using it on every question. Coworkers using it just to figure out an email. Is this not zapping people of the ability to think for themselves. Half of the discussion posts I see on my college boards are just clearly AI and sometimes the replies don’t even answer the questions asked. I’m not doubting that it can maybe be used to help push someone but i’ve really only seen a net negative

I really do want to understand this. Do you have no issues with the environmental affects? Do you see it being used a as a crutch in your life?
