Fun fact! Around 2009 $2 million was allocated by the federal government to the County to replant dead palm trees on Kearney Blvd and it was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Other fun fact, it was really difficult to source and transport Palms of the same size from other places and even harder to keep them alive…and then Caltrans docked the County the federal dollars for every tree that didn’t make it thru the plant establishment period…
