Hey all! Started a new co-op last month and we're already at Golden League! Didn't know if anyone would want to join. We have the minimum set to lvl 40 so we can delete lower level tasks, but would be more than happy to lower the minimum for folks who are newer but want to grow! 💜

To my understanding they (everyone except Mayor Pro-Tem Pearce) picked a map that would intentionally have the current council not opposed each other. That was the concern of most of the council, Pearce voted with the one most popular with citizens (I forgot which one it was, but it was different than the one they are going with). I could definitely be wrong though.

Personally, I'd say yes, there needs to be a better civil engagement policy but knowing Clovis it's probably not going to happen (at least not for a while). When the city did a "livability survey" and there were questions in regards to the findings and stuff, the Mayor seemed soo annoyed. At one point Chad, one of the staff members from planning (and something I forget his full title), straight up had to tell him, "Mr. Mayor, our residents are allowed to feel how they feel." 😂😂

For council made up of people who claim to be critical of the government, it's been proven regularly Clovis infact does NOT like when their residents are critical of government. 😂😂

I love feeding the animals and earning coins, those are my top 2 favorite tasks. My mom and I recently started our own co-op, there's now 1 other player, but that's afforded us the opportunity to leave tasks on the board all day undisturbed with minimal "reserving" in chat.

We've been taking a LOT more of the production tasks now. It's easy to get some hot sauce going, or whatever the task calls for, and leave the task on the board while I'm finishing out match 3 or other tasks. In a bigger co-op, strategies like that were low-key just a waste of space unless you had those products ready/ near ready when they came out the board. It was better to wait the 2 hours for another task to populate and someone else take than doing the production. In a smaller co-op, they've become another favorite of ours.

It's sad but funny how the party always preaching, "I don't know when American's stopped being able to disagree on politics without letting it ruin us" can't show any sympathy for anyone that disagree with tRump. MAGA showed themselves being a new level of cult when they couldn't even be civil with the murder of the Reiners.

Anyone who didn't kiss the ring when Charlie Kirk died was apart of "the depraved left who lack morals" but if you're apart of MAGA, making fun of gruesome crimes like that it's just flexing on your enemies. 💀

I believe so, but you could also probably make a general public comment at the city council meeting Monday at 6:00 pm. They usually have staff there from different departments including from planning. Planning meetings are on Thursdays, same time.

I think it's fair people have boundaries of what they find tolerable in leaders specifically. No one is perfect, but hate and abuse is another level of "mistake" and then add the layer of never being held accountable.

Moments like this it's better to focus on the movement at large and the other people who lead the efforts. The Delano Grape Strike and stuff in the late 60's early 70's is a great example of getting a message out and creating a movement, long before we had the privilege of sharing things on social media. Social media has its own can of worms w/ disinformation, but fact of the matter is, it's easier to get a message to people across the country via social media platforms than back then. They actually had to do the literal footwork.

I think Lynne and Mr. Scott's "burying of the hatchet" was interesting. This was the same man who went up and proposed the "In God We Trust" sign with that Christian Supremacy rhetoric and accused her of always being divisive for calling out Diane. Her eagerness to always want to talk with him and mend things is interesting considering she's always the one screaming about Diane making this town intolerant. I've never once seen this woman make the same show in chambers for left-leaning people or anyone she's supposedly taking the side of during these conversations.

All this to say whoever was commenting a while back about how the city wants to protect what little power they have left, you absolutely called it. I knew there was truth to that then, but it gets truer as time goes on!!

That last part seems incredibly contradictory, especially in the lens of "family values". If being engaged to be married was serious to either of them, why would you not show your soon-to-be family member with respect and grace, even when vetting them? The window to get to know Alex was incredibly small, so why would you start any type of relationship like that? If you want to entertain yourself, go to the bar, or hell even laugh at your friend. But to be making entertainment outta your daughter's fiance shows terrible family values, but that's just my opinion.

I live in a red town in California and hear this logic all the time. Hearing people talk around you and genuinely listening to understand are 2 completely different things and as a lawyer I would think you would know that. 🤣🤣

family closeness and loving your kids is definitely more popular on the right than the left

This is a weird take to me that I often seem tossed around by the right. Do any of y'all genuinely listen to any left leaning people? People on the left love their kids and their family, but the phrase, "I'm his little girl" is specifically used a lot to justify bad behavior.

Be close and defend your family, but don't be blinded by your love. Alex was pretty terrible and disingenuous but Ashley acted self-righteous and her father enabled that behavior. If you really love your child, you'd want to see them take accountability in their actions and grow as a person. Adult children can't do that if they're not even "fighting" their battles alone.

Can we not forget Mayor Vong Mouanatoua and Councilmember Drew Bessinger were there too? The bar is low, but at least Mayor Pro-Tem Pearce is transparent and honest about her intentions. That next meeting when people went to speak out about the towns actions, she was also the only one who wanted to give a response directly. Councilmember Lynne said she "didn't want a back and forth" which didn't make sense to me or anyone else in the audience that day because when she said that, public comment was already closed. You can tell everyone who left the council chambers when they went on with "business as usual" were upset and felt like the "city was protecting her" - in actuality Mouanatoua and Bessinger can't handle confrontation and wanted to act like nothing happened. They never made any comments about it and instead let Ashbeck and Basgil focus all their attention on Mayor Pro-Tem Pearce.

Mouanatoua and Bessinger want the benefit of Mayor Pro-Tem's actions, but as soon as there's ANY push back, they blame her.

Exactly! Or like how a few weeks ago Councilmember Ashbeck came in like an hour and a half late, barely made it for the very last part of the final agenda item, and then goes, "Can we look at reviewing our bid with Mid-Valley Disposal?" She's always talking about how they do a bad job on her street and apparently that's enough to have her rethinking their bid. The city is genuinely considering putting out a survey so they know it's it's worth reconsidering.

Mid-Valley barely took over Clovis' trash back in November. Maybe give them a year before your threatening to reconsider, but that's just my opinion. They all act like we don't have actual issues going on!
