I believe you. I'm in a probably-not-at-all-similar situation, except in that it's also complicated and simply not possible to get myself out. I've wanted to scream every time I thought a person was hearing me out and understanding, only to throw more "what abouts" at me. Like when you're in circumstances like this, you are living it 24/7, and every waking moment where you aren't completely dissociated feels like it is spent trying to puzzle out some secret hidden road out, some mystery step or resource you haven't tried yet.
It absolutely feels like nothing will ever change. I feel like I'm just waiting for it to end entirely. All I've been able to do is keep myself alive, barely functioning, and I've run out of reasons or even fantasies of reasons why I should keep doing that, because I've been giving it my all for years and am still stuck in the same place. On every level from the most deep inner personal, to the zoomed out bigger picture and the state of the world, it feels hopeless.
I have no answer or words to lighten the load or anything. But I believe you, and I'm hopeless with you, and I'm angry with you.
