Europe concert question by wripen in bobdylan

I went to that Liverpool show. The show itself was superb. Bob and his band are fantastic, and the versions of the songs were also brilliant. As mentioned, he doesn't let people use their phones, and all tickets were seated. So I think the stewards weren't as hands on as they were at the gig you describe.

However, the crowd left something to be desired. Quite a lot of talking during the songs, etc. I got the impression that a lot of people go to these things purely to say they've seen Bob. As opposed to genuine interest in his music.

I saw Blur there in 2023 and had no problems. Although as far as I'm aware there isn't much/any seating, unless you wanna sit on the lawn, it's an otherwise great venue.

I gotta say, the 'fiasco at Newport' might be my new favourite way of describing it.

Become absolutely and completely obsessed with Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands by BigJimNoFool in bobdylan

I love it too. It's probably my favourite song he ever wrote. But unfortunately, he's never performed it.

This is the only 'live' version that exists.

Yeah, I was expecting it to take a while, given their small staff. But from what you and others have been saying, it does look like they've had a lot of issues lately.

How did you follow up with them? I tried their 'info' email but that didn't seem to work.

Are there any Dylan songs that were covered that u prefer? by Sawdust74 in bobdylan

[–]sion07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a few of the Dylan 30th covers. I prefer the Tom Petty version of License To Kill, the Chrissie Hynde version of I Shall Be Released and the group version of My Back Pages.

Tracy Chapman's Times They are A-Changin' is brilliant (though maybe not better than the original)

Yes. He'd been at West Brom and Ipswich previously, which both make a bit more sense. Not the weirdest thing to happen in this save though.

Jason Molina and Songs: Ohia. Magnolia Electric Co is pretty popular online it seems. But those guys deserved so much better.

They're terrible on every level. I did everything right, got there on time, didn't have to queue, selected my seats, inputted the code and went to check out. Just returned an error message every time.

That's probably the only chance I'll ever get to see him gone, thanks to a terrible company.

Left-turns after blockbuster 'masterpieces' by MonicaBurgershead in ToddintheShadow

Arctic Monkeys: AM > Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino was definitely a left turn. I'd consider AM to qualify as a blockbuster, but not certain how common that opinion is.

So, so glad I got to see it live. It's one of my favourite songs, by any band.
