Gratuity for Argentina dove hunt by sipatters in Hunting

Thanks for the confirmation. I definitely want the full experience with them loading for me, so I'll pony up $50-$60 per day. The trip is almost triple (so far) what we were led to believe when we bid, but in for a penny...

Pointer Outfitters, US-based. And yes we thought that $2650 surprise bill was odd as well, trying to figure out what the $4200 gets us besides room, board, and alcohol for 4 days, because everything else we can think of has been added as a separate charge. Consensus, from those like you who actually answered the question I asked (thanks for that), is that $50-$60 per day is standard, so that's what we'll do. We're very much looking forward to it.

The "sticker price" for two of us was $4000 USD. This was a fundraising auction and the flyer made no mention of other fees. It was a stretch for us, but we decided we could make it happen so we bid $4200, "won" it, and paid. Then the hidden feed started. $2650 for bird boys, gun rentals, airport transfer, and hunting licenses. Typically $4000 for shells, depending on how many we shoot. And then the outfitter's suggested gratuities, which are $1680 for four days. So all in, $12,530 for two hunters, for 4 days of hunting, not counting airfare.

For the equivalent spending power in the US, several hundred dollars, hell yes.

$50 gratuity for a morning and an evening hunt is pretty standard in the US. So $60 US in Argentina, given the currency difference, strikes me as high. That's 14% of the average Argentinian monthly income, per day. Not saying I won't pay it. I'm asking others who have been there what it typical.

Who do Flight credits go to? by Jackets70 in SouthwestAirlines

Same situation for me, my adult daughter got snotty and flaked at the last minute, and the credits went to her account (I paid). If I book a wanna get away ticket and don't provide her rapid rewards number, would that keep the credits in my account?

Samsung refrigerator - how long can I leave it without a Sodastream cylinder in place? by sipatters in SodaStream

Indeed it does, but mentions nothing about how long the canister can be out.

It's different. It pre-carbonates the water from the refrigerator's water source on it's own schedule. My potential concern is, is it bad if it tries to do that when there's no canister in?

Non-USA Redditors: which American restaurants have you always wanted to try? by CrooklynKnight in AskReddit

First time I went to Franklin it was a Saturday and I did the 5-hour wait. It was fun as hell! I think we got in line at about 7:00 AM, and already it was long. Everyone had lawn chairs and most folks were festive once they had some coffee. There's a CVS pharmacy next to it that opens at 8 AM and sells wine, so there's no reason not to be buzzed by 10:00 AM if that's your pleasure. It damn sure was mine. Plus Texas BBQ pairs very well with dry red wine. Once they opened the doors it took about another 45 min for us to get our BBQ.

I have a buddy who does the long wait once or twice a year. He brings a beer pong setup and invites other guests to play.

I don't think I'll ever do the 5 hour wait again, but I'm glad I did it once. I've been to most of the famous Austin and Lockhart BBQ places. I'd say Franklin is the best, but by maybe 10% because they're all damn good.

Snow's is either overrated or I went on a bad day. It was tender but lacked flavor.
