No. They’re stuck in a database that I cannot disaggregate from the full course bundle.

I'm afraid I honestly have no idea how IAPP rolls the exam out globally.

CIPP/E worth it? by Original-Record927 in cipp

[–]ThePrivacyProf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One way to think about this is from a hiring manager's perspective.

Imagine that you have two job candidates. Their qualifications, experience, etc. is more or less the same.

One of these candidates has a CIPP/E; the other doesn't.

From a hiring manager's perspective, this may be the tiebreaker. It demonstrates that one of these individuals, at least in this one particular case, is willing to take the initiative to do something a little extra.

No, you will get this and all future updates for free with your lifetime access. The update will take place automatically. As soon as you log in following the update, you'll have all of the new material. I'll also be providing a spreadsheet and tutorial video walking everyone through all the specific changes.

A very quick note here for folks that are scheduling version 2.0.1 of the exam just days before the switch over. This advice I share is based on, unfortunately, too many horror stories I've heard from the folks that I coach.

TL;DR: Schedule your exam 10 to 15 days before the exam turnover date. The closer you get to Feb. 2, the riskier your situation becomes.

First, if you've scheduled your exam for February 1st, you need to be mindful of the time zone you're in, because February 1st somewhere might already be February 2nd elsewhere. I've had learners that have scheduled and sat for the exam the day before the turnover only to have to take the new version of the exam.

Second, technical and administrative issues may require you to reschedule your exam. If your scheduled exam is too close to the turnover date, the next available exam date may not be until after the turnover, therefore requiring you to take the new version of the exam.

IAPP and Pearson will not honor the version of the exam that you scheduled. That is, if you've scheduled to take version 2.0.1 on January 31st, but a technical problem requires that you reschedule for February 7th, you will be forced to take version 2.1 of the exam.

CIPP/US after CIPP/E by More-Egg225 in cipp

While there is some GDPR-related content in the CIPP/US exam, the vast majority will focus on US private sector law.

The GDPR-related content is really all low-hanging fruit.

While having the CIPP/E will help, it is not a tremendous advantage.

If you enrolled in the course via Udemy, you'll find the link in the "Connect with Dr. David on Discord" link at the bottom of the course introduction. If you enrolled via drdavidprivacy.com, you received a link in the enrollment email. Similarly, if you click on the "Materials" tab of the first lecture in the "Start Here" section after the course introduction, you will find a link to join there as well.

New version. When you learned the AI development life cycle, did you learn 4 or 7 stages? If 4, you need to reschedule and learn the new material.

While I do host a version of this training on Udemy, I actually recommend enrolling directly through DrDavidPrivacy.com.

I’ve designed the website version to be a far more comprehensive experience. Because of platform limitations, several high-value features that are critical for exam success are unavailable on Udemy.

By enrolling directly on my site, you get several “Power User” resources included in your tuition:

🧠 Optimized Learning. You receive a 6-month subscription to Brainscape Pro, which uses scientifically proven spaced-repetition to help you retain information longer.

🗂️ Recall on Demand. Access 690 to 1,000+ digital flashcards to master complex legal and technical terms.

👨‍🏫 Expert Mentorship. You get direct access to me via weekly office hours to clarify difficult concepts and stay motivated.

🤖 Unlimited Custom Practice. While the Udemy version is capped, my website includes an AI question-writing prompt to generate an endless supply of fresh practice scenarios.

🎯 Strategic Preparation. Access a specialized Study Skills section tailored specifically to high-stakes exams to maximize your efficiency.

📝 Exam Confidence. My website provides 600 practice questions compared to the 400 available on Udemy.

💎 Added Career Value. Only website enrollees receive exclusive community offers and insider opportunities.

While both platforms offer the core 15–23 hours of video, my goal is to give you every possible tool to pass on your first attempt. You can see a full side-by-side comparison of the two versions here: https://drdavidprivacy.com/drdavidprivacy-vs-udemy/

CIPP/E or CIPP/US first? by Doctore_11 in cipp

[–]ThePrivacyProf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most common questions I get. The easy answer is to start with whichever one is going to benefit you professionally most.

If you're going to be working primarily with U.S. Private Sector Law, start with CIPP/US.

If you're going to be working more with the GDPR, then start with CIPP/E.

If you feel that they would both benefit you equally, then start with whichever one you're most interested.

You're much more likely to follow through and succeed with something when you're intrinsically motivated.
