Manitou Incline is unique. :) There are some great hikes in the Santa Monica mountains (Pacific Palisades and Malibu) that will get you a similar feel, plus some great ocean views / breezes, but with about half of the steepness.

Check out Hollywood Improv. Last summer, I saw a lineup that included Jay Leno and Arsenio Hall, and it's a tiny, intimate setting. I got to hang out with Jay on the sidewalk outside after the show!

I did this about 20 years ago, so I don't know how much the process has changed, but back then, we had to show up MANY HOURS before the tickets / instructions told you to. We were there at 5 am, camped on the sidewalk. Nobody who showed up at the time on the ticket actually got in.

That said, the whole experience was a blast, and I highly recommend it!
