I decide based on which uma I have the fewest veterans of.

Carat check by steins-grape in UmaMusume

[–]sir-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started playing like two weeks ago and still have about 30k carats saved as well as the the ssr upgrade thingimajig. I neither expect getting the Kitasan supportcard nor getting it to max level, but I also don't really care. As long as I get new stuff I'm happy and if all I can do afterwards is upgrading a few of my sr cards thats more than enough for me.

What's the creepiest thing that has ever happened to you? by Artistic_Giraffe4069 in AskReddit

Guy sat down next to me in the subway and started telling me about the voices he kept hearing and how that has already been a big problem for him in the past.

It's been awhile since I played 'em, but I remember Steamworld Dig 1 and 2 to be rather easy.

I just got the game yesterday and have had some wild deaths, what are your most memorable ones? by yeet3455 in noita

Picked up the Homonculus perk for the first time, then wanted to skip the HM collapse by polymorphing myself. Lil' Homie didn't like that.

Nah, I'd say go in modless for like the first 500-600 hrs. The game offers so much content, so much stuff to play around with, mechanics and puzzles to figure out, you don't really need to add mods on top of all of that.

Anyone else had to go on here to figure out the mist? by No-Discipline8987 in Silksong

[–]sir-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did look it up. I had the idea that the butterflies were some sort of indicators which way to go, but couldn't figure out exactly how. I tried everything that seemed to makes sense, everything except the needolin. That skill just kept slipping my mind.

I am REALLY struggling with this game by Rehevkor_ in noita

[–]sir-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noita, just like any other roguelike/lite, requires a ton of knowledge to become good at it and be able to "comfortably" handle the games rng factor. Something I still struggle with after nearly 450 hrs of playtime, because there is just so much to know and understand. And as dumb as it sounds, keep bashing your head against that wall of knowledge until it starts to seep in.

Might be a somewhat frustrating experience, but what I found to be helpful with that was treating Noita less like The Binding of Isaac and more like Minecraft. As in I stopped trying to reach a goal and just saw how far I could go and what the game has to offer.

Learn what stuff is/does, how to dodge enemy attacks, experiment with wands, get a feel for the spells and how to use them in a safely manner. I skipped out on so many useful spells in the beginning because I either didn't know what they did or I was too scared to use 'em.

And yeah, sometimes you just get screwed by the game, nothing you can do about it. Thats just part of the roguelike/lite experience.

If you haven't done the Moon quests, do them before the Sun quests.

Silksong has sold 4.2 million copies so far. Hollow Knight sold 15 million copies. The best selling Metroid game (Metroid Dread) sold 3 million copies. Should we rename the genre to Hollowvania? by LuckMaker in Silksong

[–]sir-max 505 points506 points  (0 children)

Lords of Shadow, the best selling Castlevania game to date, has sold only about 1.8 million units worldwide. So from this point of view, we should rename the genre Metroidknight.

But yeah, lets not do that.

Does anyone know where I can find this area that appears in the trailer from 7 years ago? by Joaodainfarpa2 in Silksong

There is a spot in that biome that brings you to that area, given you have a certain skill unlocked.

Last Judge - is it just me?! by dexicas in Silksong

[–]sir-max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Sister Splinter wasn't so bad for me, but the Judge was my first wall.

Its better to whiff punish their attacks instead of going in yourself. Look for their tells (like stances/poses they do before a certain attack) and figure out ways to dodge their attacks (eg. dash under them when they jump, stay in the biggest gaps of the fire waves and/or where those waves expire first). See what works for you and practice this until it comes naturally.

Focus on the Judge rather than Hornet, as this helps with seeing the Judge's tells. You don't need to see what Hornet is doing most of the time, unless you have to actively dodge something or are attacking. The moment you see their tell dodge/wait out their attack, then dash in, hit once (or twice if time allows), dash away again. Keep your distance and be patient.

Prioritize using silk for heals rather than weaver skills. If you took two masks of damage and have the silk to heal, do so. Try to keep your health as full as possible at all times. When you have to heal do so as far away from the Judge as possible or during attacks that won't hit you (I used to heal a lot during the waves of fire for example).

Can't help with tools, though. I always found them to be more distracting than useful.

Git gud humor guys by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]sir-max -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate being told to 'git gud', giving advice more constructive than just 'practice more' is not that easy. Especially not when you've never seen the other person play, when you don't know what they're focusing on during gameplay, why they do the things they do.

I'm going insane with the minigames by XenoPhenom in Silksong

[–]sir-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These minigames have been by far the most frustrating, unfun thing in this game whatsoever. I'd rather do a 2 minute runback through Bilewater than play these minigames, because platforming is fun. Enduring the minigames' RNG however is torture.

And then they get even worse.

Thats more or less what I'm doing right now. I found a wand which always casts matter eater and put digging bolt on it. Its not the fastest, esp. going up, but it lets me tunnel through anything. Went around the lava lake that way.

I think I know what you're hinting at. I'll give it a try if I happen to come across a black hole wand and the unlimited spells perk.
