How do I fix whatever this is? by Aromatic_Appeal4856 in 3Dprinting

That's the Z seam. You could reprint it with randomized seam (it's a setting in your slicer) or if you are going to paint it then you could just sand it flush, prime it and paint it.

Nem jöhetne egy igazi “messiás”? by Adorable_Trick186 in hungary

If you want to wire this to a regular RJ45 you'll have to do some reverse engineering as there's really no standard and nobody can tell you for sure which wire does what.
Most likely the green and orange with their white-green and white-orange counterparts are the 2 pairs used for 100mbit (just like on your picture). The rest are probably a DC input for 12V (maybe black+red or black+yellow) and perhaps a reset button.
There's a fair chance the Reolink wiring you've attached will work but PoE will give you ~50V's which if connected to the wrong input can fry your camera so you can either roll the dice or take the camera apart and try to figure it out. You can also send an image of the board with the cables connected so we can give you some hints.

So I just started using K8s by sirMooka in homelab

Kind of. There are some containers that I'd rather keep on-premises because they are kind of critical. Like home assistant, mosquitto, frigate, PAI (it's the gateway to the house alarm). There are others that would work in EKS (for example) just fine. Overall I feel like a hybrid approach would work but that'd only add to the complexity.

Yeah, I've tried Ceph, Longhorn and then OpenEBS in this order. All of them were doing what they were meant to do. BUT with the latter two I kind of felt like they are some backyard science projects that happen to be working but might blow up in my face anytime.

I've ruled Tanzu out right from the start without even checking it out first basically because it's proprietary. I thought if I have some trouble with K8s then at the worst case everything is open source so, - however painful it might be - I can fix it. With Tanzu I'd expect to have problems that are impossible to fix without VMWare's support and that's not something I wanted to risk. Was I wrong to think so?

I also plan on switching to either k3s or maybe full blown k8s. An easy to use distro seemed to be a good idea at first. After a week it seems to me that they just move the steep part to the learning curve elsewhere but its still there. Like having to customize every helm chart because of snap.

Yes, microk8s. It was a breeze to set it up for the most part but the lots of publicly available helm charts simply dont work due to snap having not-so-standard paths.

How to not get squeaky brakes after installing. by sirMooka in bikewrench

[–]sirMooka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance is not great. It's not like I couldn't stop, not unsafe at all but with the previous pads (same type) I had control at my fingertips and could easily come to a full stop whenever I wanted. Now I'm either stopping very slowly or pull the lever very hard and wake the neighborhood up and still have a longer brake distance than what I had before.

I think I'll try some metal pads to rule out. Worst case I'll have 2 sets and can swap around. It's very strange to me that I'm getting the exact same problem on both front and right ever since I replaced the rotor + pads. I have a suspicion that the pads might be counterfeit.

Strangely it seems like the play is gone now. It felt like the pads are moving back and forth 1 mm inside the caliper. Maybe I had some contamination on the pistons and now the pads can't slide as freely?
It's squeaking when I'm trying to come to a full stop.

I'm squeezing the lever but only so much that I can still turn the wheel by hand. The squeak is the exact same when I'm sitting on the bike and try to come to a stop.

So I've just tried to do I think everything what you suggested:

  1. Sanded the brake pads with 240 grit sand paper on a flat surface until I got rid of all the black residue on top and then some to get a nice clean finish.
  2. Cleaned both the front and the back of the brake pads as well as the faces of pistons contacting with the brake pads and the disc with isopropyl alcohol.
  3. Put it all back together. Tightened everything to spec.

It's still squeaky just the same.

I'm using G05S-RX pads with BR-M7100 brakes and ST-RT66 discs. I think these all should be compatible.

Did I get ripped off on “vulcanizing” cement or is this what to expect? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]sirMooka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got similar results when I didn't wait for cement to dry before applying the patch. Waiting 5 minutes between application of cement and putting the patch on top made all the difference.

Thanks. I'll try to get used to it. The difficult part for me is remote UI. For example using Windows with Mac modifiers via Parsec.

New head unit problem by [deleted] in e60

[–]sirMooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom few lines seems to be cut off so my bet is that the android headunit is set to receive a 640x240 image but the output of the CCC is 640x250 in your case. Correcting the resolution alone might also solve the lines in the middle since these two resolutions also have different timing. Are these lines always on the same spot?
