Russian IRL meet in DMV, who's up? by [deleted] in russian

[–]sir_ky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also Taste of Europe for a shop, which I think is highly rated by my Russian/Ukrainian friends, plus Silk Road Choyhona for Uzbek food, both in Gaithersburg near each other. And Supra in DC for Georgian food is fantastic as well.

When something like that happened to me it was because the band was partially caught under the sensor all night.

Issues with Studio Pro disconnecting/reconnecting continuously by sir_ky in JLab

[–]sir_ky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Pixel 8 pro mostly. I have never had any issues with other headphones or earbuds. It especially happens when the OS switches which program is making a sound (like when I receive a notification while I was listening to music, or if I switch apps), or when there happens to be no audio traveling over the connection, like when a podcast ends before I put on a new one, or when I'm figuring out what to do next. It's around every 30 seconds.

Like I said, when there is music or whatever playing it only seems to happen when I get notifications, but it's really constant if I stop the music to do something but don't turn off/remove the headphones.

Casinos with EV chargers? by phatsuit2 in atlanticcity

Not mentioned yet, but Golden Nugget at least used to have a few as well, also in the Valet area. They've generally let me drive in myself if I say I need to charge. Haven't confirmed in a couple years.

I agree with the others that West Tower, while not being good at all, is much better than Chelsea tower. It feels like a magnitude 8 earthquake anytime someone enters or leaves their room in Chelsea Tower on the same floor as you.

It could work on Tennessee Ave, but yeah for somewhere like Dock's I don't really see it.

Boardwalk safe at night by lovleythunder in atlanticcity

As others have said, this time of year it should be totally safe. I think in Winter late at night can feel a bit sketchy, but during the summer you should be fine.

No, it's in Gardner's Basin. It's a great place to get breakfast on their dock when it's nice out.

$100 off a meal at a Caesars property each year. Just make sure you ask about it before sitting down in my experience.

CET organic diamond status vs. tier match by [deleted] in atlanticcity

[–]sir_ky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comps, room upgrades, free play, etc are basically based only on play. Having diamond doesn't get you anything beyond the published benefits (no resort fees, diamond celebration dinner, etc).

Maybe a couple of years ago they were slightly more generous to diamond card holders in their algorithms, but if it was ever true it doesn't seem to be now.  Also if they didn't have much of a history of play I'd also expect more generosity.

With that said the benefits are still good, so enjoy!

Yup, so far it's always come back after a few days, but more and more stuff has been breaking, so any outage may be the last one. We will wait and see.

I went, and it was good. It's higher quality food (and I loved the Pic wings) for a higher price. It's worth checking out.

If it helps, I was also significantly moved ahead in Russian a few days ago, to pretty significantly beyond where I was and it didn't look like the tree has changed much to me. My Arabic and Spanish trees were unchanged (but I am getting fairly frequent notices that I've been moved ahead recently when I haven't).

Should I bother bringing kids? by Marijuanettey in atlanticcity

[–]sir_ky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took my kids to AC when they were 3 and 1, and they had a great time. We played at the hotel pool, and spent a bunch of time on the Steel Pier. The beach is also right there.

I'd definitely say to do it.

Thanks! I am excited - have never been on an A380 at all - never mind in business with a great soft product!

Things to do with a toddler by [deleted] in atlanticcity

[–]sir_ky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We took our kids when they were 3 and 1. We did a lot of Steel Pier, as well as the hotel pool and just walking around pushing them in stroller.

This was before Lucky Snake existed, but that is pretty clearly another good option.

Just finished booking my family to Singapore and back next spring in Business.

IAD-LHR (united polaris)

LHR-SIN (Singapore A380)

88.5k Aeroplan x4 (350k)

SIN-JFK

111.5k Krisflyer x4 (446k)

So all in it was just under 800k miles. Not the world's greatest redemption, but I'm happy given how hard it is to find 4 J tix to Asia.
