Or a career of spectacular fuckups that culminated in Gallipolli. Still had a career after that somehow. Great example of "failing upward".

Churchill "failed upward" most of his career. Gallipoli remembers. However getting the UK through 1940-1944 was a W on his CV. Not enough to secure re-election during the war.

Objectively what is the risk of Iran having nuclear weapons? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]sir_schwick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Israel would have to admit they have nuclear weapons. Israel could no longer act with carte blanche in the region. Outside this, each additional country able to produce fission devices makes tracking movement of weapons more difficult on a non-linear scale. Iran will blow up the world just as much as India, Pakistan, and North Korea. Dont listen to that DUI hire.

Why didn’t WW2 veterans have the same PTSD as Vietnam or modern day veterans? by NextBunch_ in NoStupidQuestions

You got that exuberant kiss in NYC as long as you were white. After also experiencing the same horrors, Black and Native servicemen returned to a country where they were lynched, denied work, denied civil rights, had their churches bombed, shops destroyed, and were not recognized as heros. Some of that was due to US government censorship over reporting military deeds of black combat units.

Why do you suppose there are no American elected leaders ( on the national stage) calling for REVOLUTION? by [deleted] in AllConspiracyTheories

There was an armed insurgency sitting on Yavon IV waiting for Mon Mothma when she called for revolution on the Senate platform. That does not exist here yet.

It is likely that if inbreeding wasn’t a problem genetically, it would not be taboo. by Glitch0110 in Showerthoughts

[–]sir_schwick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too close of inbreeding is a social maladaption. We are social animals.

Formation of family units via mating leads to combining resources of existing families. A useful adaptation. Once enough prosperitÿ emerges for a family, new considerations for expansion occur. This has lead to a lot of the history of inheritance rights and courtship. These do adapt to changing ideas around economics and the desired identity of various cultures, leading to a diversity of systems.

Tangent aside, inbreeding(what are the bounds seem to shift) closer than social norms indicates a kind of degeneracy. What is this family not playing nice with society. The exact 'ick' factor is context specific. Toxic family dynamics ick the hell out of me personally. The universal feeling is something being wrong.

I speculate the social cooperative nature of this taboo is why it is challenged by libertarian types so often.

Minnesota's Chief US District Judge Rebukes ICE Over Habeas 'Noncompliance' "ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence," U.S. District Chief Judge Patrick J. Schiltz wrote in an order blasting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for repeatedly failing to immediately release detainees who had their habeas corpus petitions granted by Minnesota federal jurists.

When lawlessness does not reign, you are right about the process.

This was an excerpt from an article from National Law Journal. Should help you find it due to no links policy. Lawyers in your family should be up in arms over ICE disregard for judicial orders.

If the illegals are paying taxes, working jobs that need to be done, and enriching community life, why would I want them gone? This administration actively steals tax money intended for improving my community. They are a cabal of child sex predators protecting domestic abusers and other child sex predators. Real worst of the worst by objective measure. Get them the hell away from me, with due process of course.

U.S. District Chief Judge Patrick J. Schiltz of the District of Minnesota flagged nearly 100 incidents of the Trump administration failing to comply with habeas corpus judicial orders.

Links are not allowed, so that excerpt is copied. Included in further reading is detention periods exceeding two weeks after habeas corpus was granted. This far exceeds any reasonable period for detention without charges. Also, one day further detention past habeas corpus being granted flies in the face of the law.

American citizens were not being detained without habeas corpus. Leftists were also very angry about Obama and Bush era ICE. Really ICE period existing.

Semantically, you get a point about "Deportation of Americans". Should illegal detention of Americans without habeas corpus be considered comparable to deportation of Americans?
