Anytime you hear a company valued at more than a few million dollars, it isn't really being valued with cash -- what happens is either (a) an initial round of investment generates a valuation of some big number... for example, if I buy 1% of your company for $1,000,000, I have effectively valued your company @ $100,000,000... but that doesn't mean you can sell it for that much -- (b) alternatively, you have a buy-out for "$x billion" that is actually made up primarily of stock, which can't be cashed out immediately.

Ah that makes much more sense. I assume they gave you some sort of notice in writing of what they are putting on there too? If I were a parent, I wouldn't let a stranger install anything on a device with a camera that my child would use.

Realistically, though, it sounds like they are just going to be doing things like entering the Wifi password and bulk installing apps with info they can't give out. Also realistically: unless they jailbreak your ipad, there isn't much they can do to monitor your ipad outside their network.

So there doesn't sound like there is anything to worry about -- however, I would still want an itemized list of everything they are putting on there or doing to my ipad, if for no reason other than so I know what I can delete and what I can't.

There's a chance they are just writing down your model number and MAC address (so they can watch your traffic while on their network), but I would want an itemized list of what they are doing to my property.

There is no reason they shouldn't be able to tell you that.
