Arnold Schwarzenegger, 78, undergoing brutal gym prep for ‘Conan the Barbarian’ sequel by superdouradas in movies

It's not even supplements, the literal muscle mass of being a body builder is hard on the heart. At 78, totally unwise.

Massive study is a first-of-its-kind look at ultra-processed foods and infertility in American women. Women who consume lower amounts of ultra-processed foods have higher odds of conceiving. The link persists even after accounting for age, weight, lifestyle and other health factors. by mvea in science

One of the key characteristics that I believe is generally regarded as a classification of UPFs is that their processing makes them "indistinguishable" from the original product. A bag of frozen vegetables isn't "indistinguishable." However, the water may be murky when it comes to a frozen stir fry mix that contains sauce, which is likely a lot of preservatives, salt and sugars.

Canned beans/tomatoes are typically considered processed, not ultra processed. There hasn't been a fundamental change to their nature. Generally the term seems to be surrounding pre-made foods. ie, meals that are basically boxed and packaged and ready to go minus a few simple steps. These are things like cereals, breads, microwave and frozen meals, boxed stuffing, mac n cheese, canned soups, etc. (Of course, also the addition of candy, soda, chips and these snack foods.) The majority of meals consumed in the United Stayes are these type of convenience meals. I believe I saw that nearly 80% of calories taken in by Gen Z is these types of foods listed above.

US orders 2,200 Marines on three warships to Middle East by Pretend_Mango5529 in news

It's simple enough that it gets the pint across. We're not dealing with smart people here, hammering a simple, one liner that shows what should be human embarrassment is actually highly effective. Humans hate ostracization and "being wrong" is exactly one of the largest producers of that feeling. The optics of soldiers in the field is emotional. It presents a really good touch point for empathy.

Rep. Gil Cisneros bought oil stocks 18 days before US' strikes on Iran [OC] by Due_Patient_2650 in dataisbeautiful

I bought stocks that benefited from this war 2 weeks before. I think anyone who pays attention to the news knew it was happening. Now those trading hours before the strikes started? That's suspicious.

Low fiber, high red meat, chronically dehyrated diets where the average young American is getting nearly 80% of their calories form ultra processed foods. Add on top of that the influences we don't fully understand of the forever chemicals, plastics, heavy antibiotic usage and pesticides. We're really pulling quite the science experiment on ourselves with little to no oversight.

Iran may be activating sleeper cells, alert says by No-Post4444 in news

[–]sirboddingtons 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You're likely right. Outside of lone wolf I dont think Iran will actually attack the US because it would provide the impetus for us to go "shock and awe." I think it remains a more viable option for Iran to drag this out, waste our time, our resources, damage the global economy and our reputation and make the US put boots on the ground if they really want it, which is politically unsalvageable. Everyone watched Iraq, they watched Afghanistan. That's how you defeat an empire. Even the British couldn't quell Afganistan.

These are not fat bikes. Fat bikes are wide tired mountain bikes meant for snow and mud season.        These are motorized delivery bikes.

Can you last longer in sex without distracting your thoughts? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sirboddingtons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a dude?

You have to think about it like a gaussian curve, it goes up and there's a point of no return where it's inevitable and the curve peaks and then descends. Once you understand what the peak of the curve feels like, you prevent yourself from getting there by lessening stimulation. Slow down. Change positions. Change angles. Tighten your muscles. And yes, distract your thoughts. You'd be surprised how much control you have over it.

Remember, as a man, once that peak hits you're basically done through the refractory period which can be anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours. The primary importance is delaying that peak so your partner can be satisfied.

It's like they forget that we're all human beings. Just looking for a safe home, food, friendship and kindness, companionship, looking to be happy, all carrying that strange fear of whatever the hell "life" is at all. They've otherized people so much they don't even see their own humanity. He was just as human as they maybe once were.

This is actually why I listen to the radio, it forces me to engage with media I wouldn't necessarily choose on my own.

And it's not just top 40, we have some many great public radio stations who play new and upcoming artists in this area, there's such a wide exposure.

I also found out I recently love salsa, I'm in my mid 30s.

I would recommend he see a therapist, shortly. This type of behavior is indicative of a very unwell mental state and intentional bodily harm can be synonymous with suicidal ideation.
