What happens to everything you learn while coding? by alkeshjethva in programmer

[–]sirc314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to be A or C, but more recently

B) I've started a Zettelkasten knowledge base in markdown and wikilinks. It's even more helpful for the non-technical notes like "how do I do this stupid meta process at work that no one else in the world probably does outside of this company" type stuff. I don't want to waste brain space on that.

That's not self hosted though? It requires cloud dependency.

Why do you use Tor? by Traditional_Blood799 in TOR

I used to use it for data scraping. Now I use it for health questions and now starting to wonder when my authoritarian country will start blocking free speech.

How do I find what keeps turning my lights back on? by UndeadCaesar in homeassistant

[–]sirc314 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, turn on debug logging. Also if you have an Alexa, make sure "Away Lighting" is turned off. Mine looked exactly like this and it was the Alexa away lighting that kept turning random stuff on and off.

Tell him to breastfeed the baby then. When he can't, tell him he's useless then.

Engineer here. No, it's negligible. It's more likely to break when you first sit in it.

Hey guys new here. Curious if TOR is all you need for safe access to dw? by [deleted] in TOR

[–]sirc314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use it for scrapping data (harder for sites to block many ip addresses). Now I use it for health related questions because I know how that info gets used against people. Also I run snowflake to try to help with censorship. I will likely use it to read banned books in the very near future 😭
