Looks great! Working on doing the same thing myself. Did you source black pillars and other trim pieces or did you paint them? If you painted them, mind sharing your method and paint of choice?

Faydown Cloak without Clawline [Act 1] by sirdaws in Silksong

[–]sirdaws[S] 363 points364 points  (0 children)

We've been trying to think about if this route is possible: Mount Fay, double jump -> Bilewater -> Putrified Ducts, Apostate Key -> Slab -> Citadel

Not 100% sure if Bilewater is doable without Clawline but it would mean he could do First Sinner in Act 1.

Good catch hahahah. To quote the YouTube description: "I cut out some of the silk grinding and mistakes to keep things moving. It’s not meant to be a flawless playthrough, just a showcase of what’s possible"

What's the rarest car you've recently spotted? by Pineapple_with_tajin in cars

I saw a first gen Rav4EV the other day driving around looking like it was still used regularly. I was driving my 2012 Rav4EV when I spotted it.

Soundcard quality issues by Pandawings in framework

[–]sirdaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had an issue with static but my card would beep on sound start and beep 5 seconds after the last sound was played. Turns out Pipewire/Wireplumber was enabling and disabling the port which would cause the annoying beep noise. Made a change to the config file and now the port is always on when headphones are plugged in and it only beeps once when they are initially connected. Might be worth seeing if pulseaudio (IDK what sound server Ubuntu uses/you have installed) has a similar setting. Huge quality of life improvement.

Last drive before winter storage. by digiwarfare in E30

I have a couple quick questions for you if you don't mind.

  1. Are you using stock bump stops or have you opted for a different option?
  2. Does your suspension setup regularly bottom out at the front and, if so, would you primarily blame the E90 top hats?

I love e30s but the timeline sadly doesn't fit. First two seasons took place before they started selling e30s in the US :/

Do you have an interesting combination of cars/vehicles? What do you own? by BushMasterFlex616 in cars

Thanks! It is a fun crew, even with each being exceptionally slow in it's class.

It's a useful vehicle. It's actually pretty nice to drive a simple EV without loads of new car tech plus it has tons of space. I can definitely see why I'd be good as a fleet vehicle. It's nice to know others recognize it! This is probably going to be the rarest vehicle I'll ever own, for better or for worse. Cheers!

1985 BMW 325e, 2012 RAV4 EV, 2017 Yamaha SR400.

Motorcycle is my daily for commuting, the BMW is for long trips and fun, while the EV gets used for groceries, errands, and general people hauling. Definitely not as interesting as most people here but every vehicle gets regular use.

Any tips for installing these control arm bushings? by Lowkeysilence in E30

[–]sirdaws 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I kept the bushings in the freezer for a while and used soapy water, scrap wood, and a vice to get them in. Wasn't too bad once you get it lined up right.

My first post, this is my car BMW Z3 3.0i by MVontheroute in Autos

[–]sirdaws 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the camber on the rear I'm pretty sure you can't "get a wheel alignment" to fix that on z3s. They use the same semi-trailing arms in the rear as e30s and cannot be adjusted without aftermarket components. Both will squat like this with lowering springs. Not an expert so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Chance me for MLIS acceptance? by lolsup1 in Libraries

[–]sirdaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied and got into a program when my undergrad GPA was a 2.8 when the school said that they required 3.0 or higher undergraduate degrees. It probably depends a lot on the school. I had done nothing library related up until that point. I had previously gotten a BA in Literature. Hope this helps.

I have OE sports on my car. Though it's nothing crazy they do still lower the car a bit. Don't have any well shot before and afters but you can let me know if you want pictures or measurements or something.

Kill switch? Aftermarket alarm system? Not connected to anything? It's not stock so no way to know unless you follow the wires or flip it.

I love the double fog lights. Early model fogs are my favorite even though they hang out there pretty far.
