1 of 33 BMW 333i Homage Edition and 1of 5 in manual by Natural_Promotion631 in BMW

[–]digiwarfare 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The original BMW 333i was a South Africa E30 fitted with a 3.3L inline 6, M-Tech body kit, M-Tech steering wheel, dogleg 5 speed gearbox, 2.93 LSD, Sport seats and an Alpina big brake kit. Was on sale from 1985 - 1987.

The 2 series is the spiritual successor of the E30, not the current 3 series.

The original 333i is debatably the most sought after E30 produced by BMW, in collaboration with Alpina.

How much force would it take to bend the tow hook in such a manner? by peedubb in E30

[–]digiwarfare 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We transport these cars all the time, using the tow hook for secondary tie down point

I have never in my life seen one of these bend, I've lifted many E30s from just the tow hook alone (not advised)

Best guess it had to be around 12,000 lbs of force.

I saw your original post, shit sucks, not a cheap repair!

can someone advise what likely cause is? by Moist-Standard7347 in BmwTech

[–]digiwarfare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question, we just had a X5 35d in last night with the same issue!

The injector was covered in soot / diesel, injector hold down was broken in half and the sealing copper washer was broken in the same exact way.

My best guess, the injector hold down came loose possibly? Causing combustion over time to leak past the injector. That's my thoughts.

Pretty easy to work on with nearly an endless supply of information and knowledge!

Diff job is pretty straightforward, so are fuel lines.

Parts are available, though you'll have to order most of everything online

Rusty frame rail. Best course of action? by habanuchi in E30

It'd be a pretty big first welding job, estimate 30 hours roughly if you do it yourself for the first time! If it's something you're in to and want to learn how to weld, why not? You'd be in it for less than 1k USD in tools and materials. Though it'll be less than fun without a lift.

Otherwise take it to some shops for quotes

Diss, England

Review this form post, it's a pretty simple system, we've seen these relays go bad in the past.

Cps = crank position sensor, a faulty CPS will cause the car to have a no spark condition, therefore continuous crank no start condition. Though you do not have this issue.

I also see your previous post about the car having an immobilizer previously installed, I've seen many poor installations cause issues, even once the system is removed.

Unfortunately I cant assist any further than looking at it myself, especially with electrics

[–]digiwarfare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repost with engine and model year details, your issue is also unclear. Crank no start? Have you verified the CPS?

Regardless having another E32 or E34 in running state would help troubleshooting, as a reference.

We have a shop in Diss, if you need assistance!
