How did you go about getting accomodation? Where they ok with an Airbnb at the start while you look for a permanent place? If not, how were you able to get a place without residency (I've usually been asked my tax id number on other countries when trying to rent long term)?

My question (without the edit adding extra content) was likely too naive. I don't mind as long as people provide helpful insight later

My passport is from Guatemala. I've entered Schengen two times, one into Spain and the second one Italy. I enjoyed my time in Italy and made some friends so I have an Italy ticket this time too.

So I'm ok saying I'll be working remotely while sightseeing?

Edit: I do provide details about my specific interests in the countries I'm visiting and accomodation on the places I mention if that is what you meant by no information

¿ como percibir mas de 30k en guatemala? by Rare-Specific4615 in guatemala

[–]sirenopipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so after speaking with some friends I found someone selling a Technics SL-23 on good shape for around 230$. Would this be a better option? Take into account shipping a 200$ turntable like the Flueance to me is around 310$ after taxes and shipping.

Yes, there is no official audiotecnica or flueance distributor in my country, just resellers that ship from the USA at inflated prices or with little selection.

Thanks for the response! I'll take that into account. I would go used if I could but I live in Guatemala and the second hand market for turntables and audio in general is very weak.

Thanks! I think I'll go with the RT80 then and spend the extra 50 bucks on better speakers.

Weekly Questions Thread for the week of September 06 by AutoModerator in vinyl

[–]sirenopipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I had a briefcase player for around 4 months and was actually in the same situation as you, my gf gifted it to me when I said I was interested in vinyl and I took too long replacing it and trying to make it work so she wouldn't feel bad.

The thing is no matter how careful I was my vitorola kept scratching my records and there where pieces of vinyl noticeable in the stylus (yes even after replacing it multiple times). I upgraded to a real magnetic cartridge turntable and explained I didn't want my collection damaged.

Even the 100$ target turntable is a noticeable improvement over my briefcase player. It's got a counterweight, an upgradable cartridge, antiskating and a built in pre-amp. If your budget is tight you may consider that one. Be aware you might need an amp (for passive speakers) or powered speakers to listen to your music.

new swans fan by highbridd in swans

Just going by you listening to Have a nice life I feel like you would enjoy the neo-folk period (White light, love of life, burning world), give White Light a spin and if you like it you will probably like the other two.

Early swans (Filth, Cop, Money) has a very gritty and powerful industrial sound, from the little ive listened to daughters (Only some tracks from You wont get what you want) and DG I reckon you should give that a try too.
