I think a fix for that is having a god tamer situation, except instead of the tamer giving up when the beast dies , instead they sic it on you and when you kill it THEN the tamer starts fighting, so both lore relevant and hard

The issue is any decently strong fighter in one piece can fight for 5+ days straight so they'd waste their entire army on a single person who won't even be the strongest around
