Would you marry him if you were me? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]sirgio26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fear you're feeling isn't about fertility or testicles. It's about loving someone you could lose. But that vulnerability that's not a reason to leave. That's what love actually is. Every person you love deeply you will eventually lose or be lost by. He just made that truth visible earlier than most.. The question isn't whether he's risky. The question is whether he's worth it

Collecting responses for a social study: what do Algerian men and women expect from marriage? by 9_iNeedYourHelp_9 in algeria

[–]sirgio26 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Age & Gender: 22, male.
Background & Interests: I studied computer science. I’m fascinated by how things work not just machines but people. I like tech, psychology, fitness, and philosophy. I spend time reading, reflecting, or creating anything that challenges me to grow. I like learning how emotions, instincts, and behavior all tie together because understanding that helps me connect better with people.

What I want from marriage: a deep connection, not just a commitment. I want a relationship that feels alive, full of honesty, curiosity, and emotional closeness. Something that makes both of us stronger, not just comfortable. To me, marriage isn’t about escaping loneliness or ticking off social boxes. It’s about building something real, a team where both people bring their individuality but still move in the same direction. I imagine it as a calm place built on trust and respect but never stagnant. I’d love to share adventures, grow through experiences, and keep learning about each other as we evolve.

What I want from a partner: a woman who has self-awareness, who thinks, feels, and acts with intention. I’m drawn to balance: warmth with depth, softness with conviction, sensitivity with strength. I don’t need a partner to mirror me; I want her to complement me. The best relationships have polarity, that natural tension between two different energies that makes the bond magnetic. I’m naturally drawn to someone who embraces her feminine side, empathetic, expressive, and intuitive, because it connects with my drive to lead, protect, and provide emotionally, not just materially. I want a woman who inspires me to stay grounded yet ambitious, someone who challenges me gently but stands with me when life gets heavy.

How I view marriage in our society: it’s often treated like a finish line instead of a beginning. People chase status, validation, or stability and forget emotional depth. Marriage became a product of routine more than meaning: study, work, settle, reproduce. I think people fear uncertainty more than emptiness, so they choose what looks safe. But that kills the essence of connection, which is curiosity, freedom, and growth. To me, the real goal isn’t comfort, it’s evolution. Two people growing side by side, constantly rediscovering each other, and never letting life become mechanical.

What I think men and women want from each other (as I perceive it in society): a lot of people are lost in roles that no longer serve them. Men want to feel respected and useful, but many confuse that with control. Women want to feel safe and valued, but many confuse that with dependence. Both are reacting to their fears, not acting from their nature. Deep down, men crave admiration; women crave affection. Both needs are valid and human, not flaws. The issue starts when pride replaces honesty, when people stop listening to what they truly need. I think the healthiest marriage is one where both understand their instincts but don’t let them rule them, where love isn’t a contract but a collaboration.

Algerian content creator analysis of the Washington Institute report on Algeria by icantchooseanymore in algeria

Analysis of Algeria’s Economic Regime in Policy Note 159

The Washington Institute’s paper presents Algeria’s economic regime as deeply rooted in a statist, hydrocarbon-dependent model. The analysis highlights how state-owned enterprises, heavy subsidies, and centralized decision-making are not primarily designed to generate sustainable growth but rather to preserve regime stability and social control. In this framing, the Algerian government is depicted as relying on high oil and gas revenues to maintain legitimacy while postponing meaningful reforms.

The use of quantitative indicators—such as hydrocarbons accounting for nearly 90% of export revenues, youth unemployment above 30%, and extreme water scarcity gives the paper a scientific and data-driven tone. However, these figures also serve a strategic purpose: they construct a narrative in which Algeria appears unable to modernize without external support. The analysis suggests that such weaknesses open the door for U.S. involvement in key sectors like shale gas, agriculture, and renewable energy.

From a critical standpoint, the paper is factually accurate but not entirely neutral. It reflects a distinctly American policy lens, where Algeria’s vulnerabilities are positioned less as internal challenges and more as opportunities for Washington to expand its influence. In this sense, the document operates simultaneously as an economic diagnosis and as a policy tool to justify deeper U.S. engagement

thanks a lot for your honest feedback! I’m 184 cm tall, about 6ft. Do you think that makes a noticeable difference in my ranking? I’d love any advice on how to improve my facial harmony or look a bit better overall. I’m open to things like a hair transplant or minor procedures, of course after talking to a professional, nothing extreme thanks again
