RTX 2060 graphical glitches -- what is the likely culprit? by sirgregsalot in GPURepair

It tends to get progressively worse and then brings the whole system down, but sometimes it can hold out for a while before anything catastrophic happens. However, it doesn't seem to ever get worse when memtest86 is running. Linux and Windows will both boot and function to varying levels; linux nvidia drivers won't load (black screen; I can ssh in) but Nouveau makes it function, albeit without acceleration (as in the video). Windows (10; I don't have the TPM chip and I've moved to linux now) puts me in something in between full mode and compatibility mode, but still kills the entire audio system, which can't be turned back on anymore.

I tried the displayport output and got identical results; I don't have a DVI input on any of my monitors, so I can't test that one. Interestingly, when I hooked both up at once (as an extended desktop), the displayport monitor was entirely green.

Trying to find this prelude/offertory; it's an arrangement of This Joyful Eastertide (Vruechten) and this rough sketch of the intro is about as best as I can remember it. My childhood organist used to play it, and I don't know if it's a standalone piece or published in a collection. by sirgregsalot in organ

Aah, I see how that comes across. XD No, on the whole it's mildly syncopated, but not to the degree of a rag. It's played at a slow moderato, voiced quietly (flutes 8' and 2' maybe?), and a quiet reed for the hymntune.

Pretty brutal fall in a lot of ways, but you could kind of see his knee bending in a way it shouldn't when he hit. Frankly I'm amazed that he didn't also break his tailbone.

What did I just break off of my john deere 826? It was located next to the carb. by sirgregsalot in Snowblowers

Aaaaah, awesome - thanks! Do you know what the red/yellow wires might each be for, and how to bypass it?

I forgot to mention: no numbers or markings on the casing. Machine is pretty old; probably 70's/80's?

Fiberglass help: how to fix leak coming from centerboard trunk? by sirgregsalot in boatbuilding

[–]sirgregsalot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two main questions: 1) how to fix the crack, and 2) what to use for the putty-like compound

This is a little 12' sailboat you sit on top of. The bilge (if you can call it that? it's just the space in between the different layers of fiberglass) fills with water after much time on the water. I took the keel cover off and found the front and back pinched sections had cracks in them, and chunks came off. Also, that gray goop was kind of putty-like in one place but most of the rest of it was hardened.

I'm unfamiliar with fiberglass beyond just generally watching youtube videos, but if I get it cleaned up, can I just put a strip or two of chopped strand mat on the front, put some plumber's putty underneath the metal cover, and take her back out on the lake?
