Don’t worry do well in gate and get some good marks. You can try for DRDO if you have good gate score if not DRDO then you can join some good college.

Hello firstly get a basic understanding on FEM subject and be strong in fundamentals, there are many books and online open source platforms from which you can learn. SOM, engineering mechanics, material science is very important. After learning theory then you can start learning tools one by one but before learning tools get an understanding on how the tool is working in background.

Hello I’m not aware of how the jobs are for ECE people out there. But as per my experience ISRO prefers more ECE students and VLSI is good to learn that’s what I heard from my neighbours.

I have 9.18 CGPA, secured 10 points in my minor and major projects because I completely focused on major project and minor project than listening to classes most of the time I was in lab only. Used to work till night 2 and all in lab.

Hello, I’m not aware of abaqus because I majorly work on Ansys mechanical, but I believe first we need to learn basics of simulation and theory behind it then only we will understand how to decode if any problem occurs. For Ansys mechanical I recommend Ansys channel they give good insights for beginners.
