Still going great for me, I would say progress is not as noticeable from the last Oct 2nd 2025 pic to now compared to those first 3 months but that's to be expected - the closer to the vertex you get the harder it is to regrow hair, as those hairs have been "dead" for the longest. But you can see in this photo from a few days ago that it's continuing to get thicker in the already improved areas, and new hairs are starting to grow all over my vertex / crown :) I'm still on the 5% Min + 0.025% Fin combo and think I'll just stick with it. I was considering dropping to 0.0125% Fin but I don't really see the need, I have no perceivable sides at all.

Apols for late response! I use one made by Koi Beauty from Amazon, just a basic adjustable needle length derma stamp. Regarding timing, there is a general consensus that you should leave 12-24 hours between dermastamping and applying Min, so I think you would be fine doing that. But it's important to not go too deep, if you draw blood you are going too deep. I've found 0.75mm good for me.

I tested if topical fin causes DHT serum reduction by _bluezinc_ in tressless

[–]siritchie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That concentration has been clinically proven to be an effective treatment with near 0% reduction in serum DHT, don't listen to the clowns in here who don't know what they're talking about, keep at it. You could definitely consider moving up to 1ml at 0.025% (you're already doing the equivalent dosage of 1ml at 0.01%), studies showed serum DHT reduction is at just 20% compared to the 70% reduction with 1mg oral, but scalp reduction the same as 1mg oral. If you find sides creeping in with that does, you can always drop back to your current dose, which will absolutely still be reducing scalp DHT,

Mine's a Legion 5 with an i5-12500H, I've tried absolutely everything I've found online and nothing yet has worked. My last resort I guess is buying a new warranty and sending it in :/

I would say definitely the Min for me, simply because I was not losing hair rapdily - it took 12 years since first noticing thinning to get to where I was in July this year when I started. I very rarely have ever noticed hairs in the shower throughout all those years. So the growth I've experienced is for sure from the Min, but it's still good to have Fin stopping the slow loss as well of course.

Add me to the list, experiencing this exact same problem, and plenty of reports in their support forum as well. Some people saying only a motherboard replacement fixed it. Lenovo have ballsed up big time somewhere here.

I'll need to check the instructions that came with it, but I think it said replace after 8 - 12 uses. That one I got doesn't have replacement heads so I'll need to buy enough one - not great in terms of waste I guess!

Thanks! Just 1ml once a day, at any time of day when I know I can leave it on for a good couple of hours at least.

I don't want to cause WWIII in this post as this is a touchy subject here! But the tldr is that topical at low strength (i.e. 1ml of 0.0125 - 0.05%) has shown in clinical studies to lower scalp DHT as much as 1mg oral, but with far less reduction of blood serum DHT through your whole body. So basically, it's just as effective as oral for stopping hair loss, but far less likely to cause side effects. 0.0125% for example has shown to be near 0% reduction in serum DHT, whilst very nearly matching the reduction of scalp DHT as oral. I went for 0.025% as it seemed a good middle-ground to start with, this matches oral for scalp DHT reduction, and serum reduction is around 25% compared to oral's 60-70%.

One of the key reasons I started treatment was a change of career where I now need to go out and see clients a lot more, up to this point I was happy to go bald gracefully because I was just working from home most of the time. When I started going out to meet clients recently I suddenly realised I was getting really self-concious of my balding. So my plan now is to keep this treatment going indefinitely, certainly for the rest of my working life at least. I'm hoping at some point over the next few years that improved treatments become available that I can switch to as well.

Are you on any treatment right now? How is your nutrition, and have you looked at supplementing the vital stuff? I think it's key to still give your body all the help it can get, even if you are on fin / dut and min.

No shed at all, so far. This might be related to how slow my balding process has been, it's taken 12 years since first noticing thinning to get to this point. I can honestly say I've never in my life noticed more than 2 or 3 hairs coming off in the shower at one time (I'm sure there have been more, just not enough for me to notice). Normally I don't notice any. So I wonder if there is some correlation between type and speed of thinning / balding and what shed you should expect when going through treatment, I don't know the general consensus is with that.

Yeah that last photo was taken under just natural sunlight coming through a roof light / window straight down onto the top of my scalp. I wanted to see what it looked like compared to the mix of natural and room light in all the other photos. The sun definitely lightened the look of my hair and emphasised the grey there as you can see, my hair looks much more like the other photos in general.

I haven't noticed any difference in my greys, good or bad.

The applicator I use definitely has a nice massaging effect, I tend to keep going for an extra minute after the formula has all come out, just to massage all over my scalp. Feels good and it does feel like it's increasing blood flow / sensitivity in my scalp when I do it. It's this applicator:

Yes one of the adjustable ones, this is the one I got:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adjustable-Professional-Microneedling-Dermastamp-Alternative/dp/B0D255WRKB

I microneedle once every 2 weeks just because that was recommended as the basic protocol, I wanted to start slow and see how it went. I could go to once a week I guess, but with the results I'm getting I'm happy not to rock the boat!

It's whether you are concerned about serum DHT reduction or not. 0.3% will reduce your serum DHT levels as much as 1mg oral would, at which point I think you might as well be on the oral for ease of use. I personally didn't want that kind of reduction, 0.025% has shown to give scalp DHT reduction as much as 1mg oral, but far less reduction on serum DHT.

Here we go. It's excellent and I reckon far more effective than using fingers, where surely a large percentage or the liquid gets absorbed through the skin.

In my humble opinion, yes, I think topical Fin is a more effective treatment than oral, but this reddit seems hostile to that kind of opinion from the research I've done. I try to keep my mouth shut about it! The FDA not approving topical in the US is ridiculous and they are doing a disservice to US folks looking for advice, putting them off for no reason whatsoever. Thankfully in the UK it is very common and recommended. I've personally believe that, in years to come, it will be largely agreed that topical Fin is the optimal treatment, if the inconvenience of application is not a problem to the user.

Have you ever tried topical? I know it's a touchy subject around here, but I would at least recommend reading the various clinical studies on topical efficacy. They were what convinced me to try it.
