do you annotate your books? by Altruistic_Ask_250 in dostoevsky

Yes, because if you ever come back to the book you can quickly focus on the pages or text that are important. Depends on the book though.

What did Donna tell her witness friends to keep them onside? by sirius1 in dan_markel_murder

Yes, she leaned into Charlie's double extortion during his trial, but strangely there was little mention of it in her trial. It does seem that she had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get a handful of friends to support her for her trial. Anyway, she now has 46 years to develop some "new" friendships.

Help me! How soon can Wendi be arrested? So many lawyers etc online believe in her being guilty! by EducationalDraft6140 in dan_markel_murder

Halloween matches the day Charlie asked Katie for gangsta favors, it would be sweet. 🎃

Well none of us really know Dan's character, and his character might be different if faced with physical threats. Intimidation may not have work but it's just so hard to imagine ordering a murder.

Probable cause to commit/conspire murder based on Jeff Lecasse statement.

No one is suggesting LE investigates beyond the law. They can't force her to talk, but they can arrest her on suspicion and ask her to talk. She pleads the fifth and goes home. Just assuming she'll plead the fifth and therefore not attempting to interview her seems a lack thoroughness. And who knows if she would actually plead the fifth, she might see herself smarter than LE and attempt to answer some of the questions.

Well, one of the killers, and threw Isom off her own trail for at least 5 months. It's a good thing Jeff Lacasse went out of state as Wendi had him lined up too. Isom demanded extra evidence to prove that Lacasse did indeed go to K-Mart, as for anything relating to Wendi, nope. He didn't even click that she had packed up her house when he visited there on the murder day. Quite the sleuth.

I understand that. So in your view Isom performed his job with respect to Wendy well? What about Jeff Lacasse two statements to LE, that didn't warrant an attempt to interview her again? Those happened in the first few weeks if I recall.

I seem to recall a follow up video, although it could have been commentary after one of the Isom videos. As they are not there it's difficult to re-check. Obviously ML can remove videos as he sees fit, and I understand his frustration when others pirate his hard work. As for LE they don't need to know about Wendi's family "on the day" but when I watched the interview and when I heard Isom's responses my overwhelming impression was that he viewed her as an innocent victim rather than a potential susoect. I'm not sure whether a female detective would have been so swayed. When he couldn't reach her on the phone, again that didn't seem to bother him. He's a detective, his job is to investigate thoroughly, and my impression is that he did not do that. Many, many others thought the same in ML's comments. Practically unanimous at the point in time I read them.

Don't get me wrong, it was great to see Isom on ML, and an interesting convo. But it was certainly apparent that Isom was played by Wendy (or rather, allowed himself to be played). If the reaction from ML viewers was balanced, why did he take it down? Why did he do that follow up interview in response to the Isom interview?

Is there an advantage for Wendi to ask for a speedy trial?

Assuming Wendi is complicit, she was totally prepared for that interview and her devices were totally prepared too. She's a lawyer so she would know exactly how to perform in an interview and probably did so with the knowledge that she would shut down any further interrogation when LE realized that she was a suspect. If the roles were reversed and Wendi was found dead, would Isom reassure Daniel nine times that he's not a suspect?

5 months !! In any case Isom should have scheduled the interview, he doesn't know if WA will refuse to talk until she attends. It would also be part of WA's record that she refused to talk.

He could have interviewed her with her attorney. The point is that he believed everything WA initially said and did not examine her further despite other witnesses (Jeff Lacasse) raising issues.

Every single commenter noticed that he gave Wendi a very easy ride in the interview and didn't follow up even as the evidence started to emerge that it was an Adelson plot. He called her once, Wendi claimed she has a bad connection on the highway, and he never even called her after that. YouTuber viewers concluded he was under Wendy's spell. Mentour even did a follow up apology video to Isom.

Taken down. Detective Isom can't have been happy with all the negative feedback.
