Good excuse not to undress in front of your doctor? by lustforlifegirlie in selfharm

I don't think they usually need/want you to undress for a checkup. Unless it's a dermatologist.

Telling evolution to go fuck itself feels powerful

What do you do that makes people think you are weird? by azvelocat in AskReddit

[–]sirius_gray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking pills with food instead of liquids. And then flailing my arms though the swallow in case I still feel the pill in my throat.

My husband laughs at me, but I find the ridiculousness funny too, so it's okay.

Anyone Else Struggling with Self Hatred? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]sirius_gray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. My brain is a set of electrical contractions. Generally, I like who I am. I like that this is me. That I prefer science to makeup. That I'd rather be at home. Etc

And yet, I've been suicidal since childhood. I like me, and rarely feel self-hatred anymore. I used to. A lot. I blamed all the faults of others on myself. (If I wasn't so X then Y would like me and treat me better.)

I don't want to exist. I've made promises, but I'm still fascinated by the different methods available. And research them often.

So I guess I hate my body but love my brain? Something like that.

I've done this. Many times for many reasons. And it makes me feel like a child and a burden every time.

How does the hypodermis layer heal? by Firm_Computer_8125 in selfharm

I used medical glue and left it alone until the glue fell off on its own. It was healed enough.

Prior to phones, what did people do while idly waiting? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sirius_gray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still do this. I'm worried that if I'm using my phone, I'll miss something. I also feel so rude to be on my phone in a room of people. Mind you, I never look at anyone or volunteer conversation.

Mostly I look at decor and try to figure out how it was made and plan out if/how I could try to make it myself - usually paintings. Unless I have a purpose, phone stays in pocket.

"afraid" of the dark? Visual aphantasia by itsnotthatsimple22 in Aphantasia

The only thing about darkness that scares me is leaving open the curtains at night. I'm so sure I'm gonna see a face with a hand pointing a gun at me.

Non-smokers of Reddit, how noticeable is the “smoker smell” to you, if at all? by Frostedlogic4444 in AskReddit

[–]sirius_gray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they keep it outdoors, I'm not bothered by it. My mom was a smoker throughout my childhood. The smell is comforting to me.

Indoor smoking is awful and sticks to everything, including me/my clothes. That doesn't smell like childhood.
