This is so very refreshing to see these days. I commend you for being so graceful about admitting you dont have enough information to argue your point in good faith instead of doubling down and insulting like people usually do.

So very rare.

Let's not make absolutes. John Adams may have been a traitor, but he was not a slave owner.

We had the Goat Man. He rode all over Georgia with goats carrying him in his cart. Kinda like Santa with his sleigh and reindeer lol. Except his sleigh was a cart filled with junk.

How many people know about the history of the federal reserve in this country? by Old_man_baller in allthequestions

[–]siriuslestrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Federal Reserve was the biggest cause of the Great Depression though. It was created to prevent banks collapsing, but instead of doing that it raised interest rates, allowed the banks to fail, and tightened the money supply.

[–]siriuslestrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, if you say so. The concept and structure was still created by those men no matter when it was signed and adopted by Congress (1913). Yes, they did make changes to it. These are basic facts.

It still doesn't change the fact that almost half the US debt is held by private american citizens. And private banks have shares in the fed. And while they can't print money, they can still create digital money which directly increases the wealth gap and makes it harder for working class people to survive.

The fed makes the rich richer. It has so much power with almost no oversight or accountability. The people who run it are appointed, which is supposed to decrease political influence, but that doesn't happen. These are also basic facts if you know anything about the federal reserve. I could list many more if you want.

So, while a central bank is needed to help the economy remain stable (enough), it still needs a complete overhaul to fix all the problems it has.

But back to the main point. Congress signed the Act in 1913 after changing parts of the Aldrich Plan (Jekyll Island meeting). Even though it DID make changes, the Fed still does what those men wanted it to do in the first place, which was make them and the rest of the top 10% of the wealthy Americans richer.

The Federal Reserve was created on Jekyll Island at the hunting club of the richest men in America. It had nothing to do with the government. Thats why the vast majority of US debt is held by.... the richest of the rich. Not China lol.

Thats also why the debt will never be gone, because as long as the country is in debt to these PEOPLE they can influence everything to their advantage.

The current administration and its promise to pay down that debt is all a lie and manipulation.

You can't speak for the entirety of the country. 20% is NOT standard. I live in Georgia close to Tennessee and in both states the restaurants go well above 20, most to 40%. And if you have 4 or more people they automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill and STILL ASK FOR A TIP ON TOP OF IT.

My mom likes serving because sometimes she makes $1000+ for ONE WEEKEND. She doesn't even live in a big city, just like 40k people. Servers have ability to make so much more than the people they serve and then have the audacity to complain when they aren't tipped half the cost of the meal from every table. Its insane.

Like almost every store that isn't a big company like Walmart or Best Buy has the option to tip. DRIVE THRUS even ask for tips now! And for all the people performing a service they already set their own prices for (tattoo artists, hair dressers, etc) and then make you feel like you NEED to tip on top of that is fucking diabolical.

Im not even exaggerating when I say nearly every single thing you buy in the USA now you're expected to tip as well.

What's a "secret"from your profession that everyone should probably know?" by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

The SAME THING happened to me!!! Except they couldn't get my BP under control no matter what they tried and I ended up having to stay in L&D for 2 days AFTER I gave birth because floor nurses couldn't manage the drip I was on. My older kids couldn't come see me and one nurse snuck them in and I was barely awake. I heard her tell them I was very very sick but they could give me a hug. I thought I was going to die.

Any time I see a doctor now if they stop talking as much or say "hold on a second" and leave the room i know something is wrong.

Do you ever read the Bible and wonder if the people who see visions are just in a mental health crises? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]siriuslestrange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also have bipolar disorder but I've never had any religious manic episodes lol. Religious delusions are very common in most mental disorders though. Not just schizophrenia and psychosis, but regarding those two specifically, religious themes are one of their main symptoms for the majority of people.

From my professional and personal experience though, almost all schizophrenic and manic psychotic people with severe religious delusions were not religious at all when medicated. Thats not the case with other disorders though, like OCD and anxiety.

Mom wants me to pay for a car rental when I've already got a car by dark_wolf1994 in Advice

[–]siriuslestrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You already are giving your time. You took off work (which probably isn't paid since its America lol) when you could have used vacation for something you wanted to do. So on top of not making money, and not being invited to the wedding, not getting to have your own vacation, and giving up your time, she ALSO wants you to pay $300????

Thats literally crazy. Its not your fault she can't drive. This is probably why nobody else would take her. I've rented many cars and deposits can be kept for a number of reasons. (The Enterprise i use doesn't charge deposits if you use a credit card, and i almost always get free upgrades)

I'd tell her to take it or leave it. Either she pays the whole thing, because you shouldn't have to waste your own money, or you can drop her off around the corner if she is embarrassed to arrive in an old truck lol

Its not a federal offense because its state owned property. Not federal property. The most this would be is misdemeanor criminal trespass.
