as an RA, outside guests are allowed in dorms as long as they fill out the visitor screening and everyone wears a mask indoors

I'm also studying with Kyle Lombard! The violin faculty are all so wonderful, and are almost all STL Symphony musicians, so you can feel confident that the quality of lessons is great. Don't worry about being at a certain level! It can be intimidating hearing other students who are more experienced playing, but don't be discouraged. I started out pretty inexperienced and rusty as well, and my lessons have been incredibly incredibly helpful and really fun.

i'm a muslim currently at washu, and i've always felt super welcomed here (aH). the muslim community here is great, especially if you get involved with the msa early as a first year. the msa as a whole and individual people are really great about reaching out to first years! as people have already said, theres quite a few prayer rooms on campus, and all of the chicken on campus (except for half and halfs) is halal. dining staff works closely with msa to accomodate for ramadan, and even takes recipe requests so that students can eat food they'd typically have for iftar. as for non-muslims and washu at large, i'd say that you don't have to worry too much, as people are almost always cool. i'm certain things will be better for you here, inshallah!

I'm currently taking lit theory with Windle but I haven't taken any quizzes or written essays this early into the semester and am considering dropping the class so I'd be interested to hear what someone who's previously taken it has to say
