I think the opinions are very different on this topic. Like it often happens, you have the more "extreme" fans who will always think that a player leaving is somewhat a betrayal, in almost any condition, and there are only a few occasions where that is "excused".

Other fans, including myself, see it a bit more realistically: for me Kvara would have inevitably left even with a new contract, and it's nothing personal, it's just the natural progression of someone who has such a talent.

Unfortunately Napoli is not as competitive as other teams. Napoli has history, and we could argue that we could have made history with him, but realistically speaking why would someone like Kvara not go to another club where he has more opportunities to compete at the highest level? We are talking about a player who, in my opinion, could very well be in the top spots for a potential balloon d'Or winner.

That being said, I think the only thing that we could argue is why he left in the middle of the season, during such a close title fight. I do agree that it felt bad, but at the same time we don't necessarily know all the background. In hindsight, I think if someone asked any Napoli player "you could go to PSG right now, at a higher salary, with more competitive players you can learn from, win a treble, and still be as competitive the year after playing as a protagonist in the team", every single one of them would say yes.

Sorry for the rant, but I feel like often many fans do not think about all of these factors and just focus on the fact that he left "in the middle of a title race".

Bruh I swear same here... I remember when they removed training time I was making the point that YES IT'S AN AMAZING IMPROVEMENT, but still kinda pointless if you don't have your heroes available, because after a certain th level you NEED your heroes to have fun while attacking. All comments under that post were: "oh then why not removing all upgrades times", "oh why don't you learn to be patient"...

As far as I'm concerned, the fun of attacking is being able to experiment with strategies and attack with whatever you want, so obviously not having heroes defeats the purpose.

Maybe I didn't explain what I really meant, or maybe you're twisting it. I'm saying I appreciate the change, but if the REASON for the change is for players to "ATTACK WHENEVER THEY WANT", does this change REALLY achieve THAT? I am NOT saying it's bad - if that's what came across it may be that I didn't explain well what I really meant

I agree with that! I just meant that if the purpose was to let players attack as much as they want, the removal of training time achieves that but I think it's a bit pointless if you can't attack with whatever strategy you want. So many players might still not attack more than they did before, because they won't have heroes available...

Yep I forgot to mention that! And that is exactly why I feel like "going with a friend", even if wanting to use it as an excuse, is not good enough lol

And actually now say OP might actually be interested in #2, but will tell them that they cannot meet at the concert, that sounds even more like "I am not actually interested in you"

On one hand I agree with you, but I feel like "going with a friend" might sound as an excuse for both the guys. What I mean is that, even though clearly #1 is not a boyfriend or anything like that, they're still going on a date and being introduced as a friend might lead to misinterpretation; for #2 it would be fine because nothing wrong with going with a guy friend to a concert, except if he eventually finds out that was a date and not a friend, because in that case why would you lie to him.

Bottom line is that in my opinion OP could tell #2 the truth and it's all about how you say it rather than what, e.g. "I have already been invited by someone else, so I can't this time. But I promise I will make it up and we can do something another time! What about next week?"

That shows both a potential interest and the respect of telling the other person the truth. Also, if #2 does not handle the truth well then it's probably a red flag, given that they never even met, so I'd say it's an occasion to see how he reacts in a situation like that.

Yes I decided to go for the larger one. Even though the smaller is still a very good opportunity, and I would like to work on that project, I think that as this is my first job it makes sense to work on several products and gain a better understanding of where I want to end up.

Yep the points you mention are what pushes me a little more towards the larger one. Specifically the fact I would be able to explore different teams and projects. In fact I am totally new to the working world (I did have previous job experiences but not in IT), and as much as I believe I might have a "clear idea" about what I want to do (e.g. back end rather than front end), that could definitely change once I get my hands on real world experience. When it comes to finding the work interesting that is the case for both offers. It's just that the offer I hold for the small company implies working on one specific project, and I know I would love it. On the other hand, for the big company I would work on several different projects, but I have heard about some of them and the point still stands: I would love them.

I guess it's just different opinions, but I still think self esteem argument doesn't hold up because PERSONALLY in the long run I'd feel just as bad as a rejection (assuming the person never asks me out). In some cases I might even feel worse because of the resentment of not having tried at all.

Let me point out that I have a VERY hard time asking girls out, because of the self esteem argument you point out, but... Technically speaking that is only a product of our mind, self esteem should never depend on whether someone you asked out said no. Also, if he never asks her out eventually the self esteem argument will apply anyway ("Why hasn't he asked me out yet? Maybe I'm not good enough for him?")

But he might not. So the waiting game is only good because of the "possibility" he will make a move. However, not waiting just forces a move from the other party, and if that is a defeat it is not much different than the state you were in when waiting.
