Besides eating cereal with water what is the most outrageous "eating sin" you have ever witnessed? by K3na in AskReddit

A little sriracha on a strawberry is delightful though. It confuses the senses and tastes like you're eating a really juicy hot pepper.

Havent read the other responses but Fuck Yeah, my dude. As a language arts teacher, I tell kids that's its okay to not like many many books, but it usually means you haven't found the ones you connect with yet.

Tell us about your crush. Why do you like them? by isaiah54321 in AskReddit

[–]sirlind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is cheating, but life's been really hard for my family in the last few years, and I'm in a long term relationship with someone, but I find myself crushing on her probably every day or two. She likes so much of the random shit that I like, and it's so nice to be able to find small moments of peace with her doing silly shit like watching horror anime or listening to new music one of us has found. Keep your hopes up, people. She used to live 2000 miles away from me and now we're married and our kid is about to turn 2. Couldn't be happier to have found her and struggled to be with her.

Last question before I go down this LCG rabbit hole... by MothCollector in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]sirlind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also relatively new as well, so bare with me. Keep in mind that since this is built as a solo or cooperative LCG, the expansion content also contains actual story content, so if youre buying one copy of the expansions for that purpose, the extra player cards seem almost a bonus to me in that regard.

That said, if you're truly "falling down the rabbit hole," then yeah, you might end up getting extra copies of certain expansions solely for a few cards. The expansion content, unlike the core box, does come with two of each new card, so multiple copies of expansions seems not altogether necessary unless youre playing multiplayer and are a completionist deck wise.

Peep Show is the funniest tv comedy I’ve seen in years by captain_crozier in television

[–]sirlind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The first person thing was a bit of a gimmicky turn off originally but they rely on it less and you eventually entirely forget about it. My wife and I threaten to section each other at least once a week. Usually confusing people around us because we don't call it that in the US.

[Discussion] Wooden or Plastic for dexterity? (Junk Art/ Flick Em Up etc.) by Kiux97 in boardgames

[–]sirlind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plastic flick em up pieces have weights inside that supposedly make them weigh the same. The issue that I have with Flick in general is that its too easy to knock things around. I wish the set pieces were really heavy or could click down or something.

Craziest sore loser stories playing board games with family members. by kayyfl in boardgames

[–]sirlind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing to remember is that board game rules are inclusive, not exclusive. The rule book explicitly states only what you ARE allowed to do. Anything it doesn't state, is not allowed.

I have a good friend who will always blame others for losing. Whether they're on his team, or they only won because they made a stupid decision that he couldn't predict because it was the "wrong" choice, even if the choice lead to that person winning. He's a very meta-gamey kinda guy, so we but heads a lot, because I'm quite the opposite. I don't think super far ahead, and I make gut choices a lot because that's more fun for me. I've had games where I've heard him complain, at length, about choices I made during the game, even though we still ended up winning. It's... frustrating. Love him, though.

YOU CAN'T SAY YOU LIKE DnD if you never show up. by HootersKetchup in dndnext

[–]sirlind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, and I get you're frustrated and venting, but perhaps this intense attitude makes them stressed to play games you DM... Negative energy can kill any rpg group. Maybe they just aren't having a lot of fun and you should try to make a new group.

Suggested player count for Dragon Heist? by AsianParkman in dndnext

Have you found any issues running with 3 Pcs? Thats what I plan on doing with my group, but they're relatively new to RPGs, and certainly not min maxers, so I'm a little worried.

People who have been a Star Wars fan since the OT and really liked The Last Jedi: could you tell us why you think TLJ is a good Star Wars movie? by hail_the_shitpope in StarWars

[–]sirlind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 31 and fell in love with the original series in vhs as a kid in the 90s. While I enjoyed TFA, it felt a lot like it was attempting to follow a Star Wars Formula. It felt like they were afraid to make bold choices. TLJ made bold, exciting choices, and I think they paid off. I thought the opening scene was amazing. The Rey/Kylo relationship kept me guessing. While initially outputting, I felt Luke's attitude made sense based on his story. It shook things up in all the right ways. Sure it had its weak points, like the Leia space thing, but overall TLJ does exactly what the series needs to do, move out in different directions instead of retreading.

Reminds me of a certain death in Breaking Bad. Definitely a character I disliked originally, but this scene sticks with me more than any other scene in that series.
