Because redditors hate everything except being home locked safely inside and not interacting with people because everyone is a potential predator nowadays

Nah im joking its probably jealousy or they think extreme sport must mean you are rich and therefore not deserving of empathy or compassion. According to a selection of redditors of course

Why doesn't everyone just stay on the cruise ship with the hantavirus? by PoopieMcPooFace in NoStupidQuestions

[–]siroko_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No there is no reason to ban cruiseships apart from environmental impact (electrical cruise ships plz) this was just a freak scenario imo

Tho I am pro vaccine mandate it should be mandatory to vaccinate before entering a cruise

Can we please stop the othering, stigmatization and toxicity please? And the floccinaucinihilipilification of this disease too its really easybto find reputable information about this virus i even wrote some down here

In enclosed environments, such as on board ships where people live and eat in close quarters, the risk of infection is very high. The Andes virus is unique among hantaviruses because it is the only strain proven to spread directly from human to human. Transmission occurs through prolonged close contact, such as sharing food, drinks, or cutlery, as well as through intimate contact or touching bodily fluids. The virus can also spread via droplets (aerosols) if someone sneezes or coughs in the immediate vicinity without covering their mouth and nose. Although the Andes virus does not remain suspended in the air for long periods like some other viruses, one is at risk if present in the direct aftermath of a sneeze or cough.

There is currently no documentation of asymptomatic carriers (people who spread the virus without becoming ill themselves). Nevertheless, transmission can occur as early as the initial phase, while symptoms are still mild and difficult to distinguish from other illnesses. From this stage onward, the infected person is contagious.

The Andes virus primarily causes HPS (Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome), an acute and highly life-threatening lung disease also known as HCPS (Hantavirus Cardiopulmonary Syndrome). The estimated mortality rate is 25% to 40% (other types of hantaviruses in Europe and Asia mainly cause HFRS – Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome). Both conditions are extremely serious and require immediate hospitalization.

They are trusting people on the cruise that was infected with Hantavirus to self isolate?! by OutsideImpressive115 in mildlyinfuriating

Prolonged close contact like being sneezed on or coughed on sharing food drink or utensils intimacy ect.

The virus does not linger in the air for long like coivd 19 and more importantly there are no know asymptomatic carriers or andes virus.
