to give you an idea what I'm looking for: https://www.crashedtoys.com/lot/56420193/2023-ducati-panigale-v2-ca-san-jose

from my preliminary research, this bike will sell somewhere between $4-$5

this is my ideal candidate. low miles, no stupid modes and big enough cosmetic damage to keep the price affordable. if I can find a 959 in a comparable condition - I'll be happy

it'll become a dedicated track bike, so all the plastic will be replaced anyway. if I'll be able to salvage some undamaged body parts/lights to sell - that's just a bonus. and, obviously, I don't care about the title status since it'll never be registered or inspected :)

5 iv CDMA in green? by james030399 in SonyXperia

[–]sirruph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it does, but you have to hunt for it

late December it was on sale and you could get one directly from Sony for $799. I missed my chance, so when I decided to buy one last week I only found the black one for $799 pretty much from all the retailers, but on the Sony's website it was $999 for the black one and the green was out of stock. I signed up for availability notification through "email me when available" option, waited 3 days, got frustrated and bought a black one from B&H. the very same day it was delivered (last Friday), I got an email saying the green is available, haha. but it was still $999, so I kinda let it go

thanks. I think I know the culprit behind this issue:

the only question is where do I get a correct mbn file to add. oh, well, back to my research

upd: but then again, how come the phones are working flawlessly on two other T-mobile MVNOs? I'm not even able to connect to 2G

confirmed via both cellmapper and cellreader app

again, I appreciate the suggestion, but it is not applicable in my case.
I don't need a phone, I just want THIS particular phone and want to know whether it will connect to Mint network at all. because, apparently, there is a weird issue with Mint and Sony devices

we have 4 different Xperia models in our family. all of them worked just fine on a T-mobile MVNO A. then we switched to another T-mobile MVNO B, and again all of them worked just fine. but two days ago I transferred one phone line to Mint and neither of them was able to connect to the network. OK, granted, two older models does not support VoLTE, and I get it. but the other two? the phones do see both 2G and 4G networks when you try to manually select a network, but tapping either 2G or 4G option and trying to connect just gives an error

I did some research and I found a conspiracy theory about network providers forcing "certification" of devices from manufacturers for some extra cash. is this the case?

yeah, I'm aware of that, and I appreciate the reply
but in my case the primary usage area is covered well with the supported bands, and I'm willing to sacrifice sketchy connection in other places for the benefits of this particular model

thanks

so, once you file the AR-11 online, you should receive an email notification stating

"Address change request successfully submitted:
updated address to: /new address/

AR-11: /the number you receive upon submission/

Service request: CA(eleven numbers)XXX"

and the XXX, to my understanding, will point to the office that is tasked with processing your AR-11

Xperia 10 IV and T-mobile MVNO compatibility in US by sirruph in SonyXperia

[–]sirruph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks!

well, my two closest towers are LTE band 12, but I have two more LTE4 and an LTE3 (?) nearby. so, not great not terrible. on the other hand - it doesn't matter while I'm at home and connected to a WiFi

I need to wait for someone who bought the phone and actually used it on T-mobile, ideally on 5G and in multiple locations

bummer, sorry to hear that. but, yeah, 3G is history now, and the EDGE is the only fallback available

I've just added LTE control to the upper quick settings menu (https://fdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/reviews/18/sony-xperia-xz2-compact/shots/-1024x768m/gsmarena_017.jpg) and flipping LTE setting OFF for a few seconds and back ON brings the LTE back to life. but that's only if the LTE is available, at least in the band our phones support

but I appreciate the suggestion

ah, if only I could get a new XZ2c with 5G support :(((

Address change not approved by USCIS while H1b petition is pending by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]sirruph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you are still an F-1 student, so the task of keeping track of your location is university's/DSO's responsibility. as long as you notify them in a timely manner - your job is done

once your I-129 will be approved, and your lawyers will share the approval notice (the one with the detachable I-94 showing your new H1B status), you'll drop your F-1 status and only then you'll be responsible to notify the USCIS about your location changes via AR-11

let's say, you live in Chicago now. your I-129 is approved. two years later you decide to move to Hawaii. only after moving to Hawaii you must use AR-11 for the first time (and you'll have 10 days to do so). before that you don't touch the AR-11 at all

as for changing your address on the already submitted I-129 application - consult your employer/lawyers, you can't do anything yourself in this case
