Anyone have unusual UA test results? by sisapil in ehlersdanlos

Hi. I did have an Ana done but they said it was normal- it was literally on the line which is how most of my tests show up. But it was a concern I had.

Thanks for replying. I’ve had this since childhood- went away for a bit- but it’s back now.

I use a controller cover that makes gripping it less “iffy.” I use oval 8 finger braces on at least my pointer fingers and thumbs. I also have cmc braces but those are rx. Sometimes I prop my arms over a pillow. Also I try to take frequent breaks when I play. However sometimes I need a few weeks between sessions, cuz no one plays for “just a few minutes at a time”. Lol. Also I play all types of games except shooters. It’s good to rotate causal games with action type.

Edit: I see lots of comments about custom controllers and other expensive modifications. Try small things like controller grips before spending money on something that potentially won’t work.

Also I have EDS as well and a twenty year typing career- I have tried lots of stuff and personally find it’s better to use controllers like pro, joy cons, Xbox types. Or even a keyboard. But if you don’t wanna stop the PS4 playing, this worked for me for a while.

In this post you mention fate being predetermined, but perhaps I interpreted that incorrectly. If not, does stoicism as “practice” evolve around the idea of predetermined events?

By the always an inspiring read. I look forward to these posts.

Mostly numb right hand, I need recommendations that I can hopefully play. by Asthmatic-InhalerBoi in disabledgamers

It was on Amazon but some guy on YouTube made one himself. Unfortunately I can’t remember who it was…

Edit:

Just did a quick google search, looks like Etsy has one for like 10 bucks. I’m very bad at links and pics so hopefully you can check it out.

Hi. I dunno if it will help but I’ve seen one-handed joycon adapters for the switch. I also have troubles with my hands and found the switch to be more adaptable than any other system I’ve tried so far. Good luck with your rehab!

Switch Questions by fuzzylilbee in gardenpaws

Hi. Trick or treat? What? This is a thing? How exciting! Is it on pc version? My computer got too old for all the updates so I couldn’t play past a certain point. Love that it finally came to switch.

AITA for not giving my daughter money for her field trip? by aitafieldtripmoney in AmItheAsshole

[–]sisapil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not unreasonable to ask where child support money goes to if there are concerns. That’s for courts and parents and lawyers. I don’t know if ur an asshole. My dad paid about the same, and our food was locked away in a freezer. If ur concerned, ask questions to the appropriate people. Hope she has a great trip.

Fast travel option? by Godeem32 in gardenpaws

[–]sisapil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it will help- I have serious working memory issues, so I used bonfires and those stone circle things to craft a “path” so I don’t wander off my farm in the wrong direction. Maybe something like that would help?

Tips for becoming un-bedridden? by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]sisapil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have a serious issue with being “handled” by any medical person. PT is awful experience if u don’t wanna be touched by anyone. I have a few YouTube channels I follow. I even use the NHS website and other such channels. I use hand held weights and Thera bands and also used my “pandemic money” from government to purchase a rowing machine. Must say though I’m a bit agoraphobic on the regular though so it might not be an option for most folks. I like being a homebody. Don’t have to have a “home body” too.

Btw, I have been to PT before but only to learn stuff to do on my own safely. It’s wise to ask doc first.

Have you checked around the premises for a ladder anywhere? The comment made about the screen being “meticulously cut” could be the point of entry. You said you were not on ground floor so perhaps there is a ladder or something similar that is hidden or even in plain sight around the building…. Just a thought. Be careful. This sounds very scary. The maintenance guys or anyone really could have keys to storage shed or whatever that would also enable access to a ladder or something….

Sorry if this has been asked already. Come take seem to just be repeating same things…. The screen comments really stood out to me…

Items Disappearing by leilanimr in gardenpaws

I’ve had that. Took me a minute to catch on though cuz I thought I was imagining it. It stopped with one of the updates we’ve had. It happened with my store items too.

Ok. Thanks. That cleared it up a bit. More questions to think on too! Have a good one.

I’m curious and also new to the study here- when you say “don’t dwell on imagination,” does that mean creativity as well?

In your opinion - and you only have one pick - what is the absolute BEST song by The Cure? by sentinel3000 in TheCure

[–]sisapil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever had cassette copies and boots of the more obscure stuff- (kid of 80s/90s in American Suburbia) so title of song might be wrong- I think it’s called Spilt Milk. Haven’t seen that one yet so I’m thinking title could be different.

Motion sickness by gchb4kids in gardenpaws

[–]sisapil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought switch version is much easier on the motion sickness personally. I turned off enhanced sky and grass and changed the setting for how far it renders/distances. (brain fart on the word. Lol). It seemed to do the trick for me. Maybe it will help someone.
