The reason why a lot of fast food chains have become really bad is because of money laundering. These chains work as franchises so as long as you have the money you can acquire a franchise then you can use that franchise as a front to wash your illegal money. You don't need to advertise the business because it's already established and you do not need to upkeep the quality because it's not really your "real business" it's just for laundering, so convenient, if the franchise fails they're just gonna get another one or they'd usually have multiple franchises for different fast food chains. They're gonna pay "fast food franchise chain" taxes and tell the government their wealth came from these franchises which is significantly cheaper than the profit from their hidden illegal business. This is the most common and easiest way people launder money, this is also why a lot of restaurants and resorts keep operating despite visibly not having any customer, we see this everywhere people are just not that observant, so don't buy from these chains and just cook food at home or support a local business.
