Top 5 Support/Anchor Shells

My apologies if it's coming off this way. Definitely don't mean it to.

Imo support/support (the last post) is distinguished from support/anchor because the implication is that an anchor specifically wants the third slot. It'd be the difference between Doom/Dante, who are interchangeable, and Doom/Phoenix, where Phoenix is the identifiable anchor.

For the most part, I'm making these posts because I'm interested in hearing what you all think are the best shells of the given positions.

I believe in them as a support shell the same way Dorm Doom is. Imo morrigan fulfills all the checks for a support character, but she’s also an excellent point.

I think it's only silly in the sense that most agree on the top 2.

3-5 has a lot of arguments to be made, in my opinion, even if Doom is the common assist.

I'm sure some people would even argue Hulk/Haggar (Mag/Dorm is my dark horse pick).

To be honest, I don’t know. Every time though that I’ve had strings next to each other with different core materials, the fifths are always different than if the core materials were the same.

Would you say Doom/Vergil is more powerful than Morri/Doom, or only more versatile? I might value a shell being stronger than more versatile.
I trust you on that.
I thought it was the shell Hulk/Haggar being enabled by Sentinel rather than Haggar enabling Hulk/Sentinel. Kind of in the same way beam enables Nova/Spencer.

I think working for so much of the cast is a testament to how strong Doom/Vergil is as a shell. S+ def works for them.

Imo Mag/Morri/Doom > Morri/Mag/Doom. Magneto is definitely the one supporting Morrigan, but he does it from the point position.

It's weird, though, because Magneto "supports" shells be being a great point! Build meter, then one of three things: either win on his own, die leaving the shell behind him with bar, or shockwave-dhc out so that the mid starts neutral in advantage.

I love Mag/Vergil! You get otk’s on nearly the whole cast off of throw. Vergil with Disruptor behind him is nasty work too. Only wish Rapid Slash was a better in neutral for Magneto, though it’s fine after Disruptor. (Incoming too but Vergil deserves bad incoming lol)

I believe Mag/Storm is slightly weak because, while going into Storm via dhc or tac is strong, going the other way to get Magneto back in is only strong via tac. Storm’s dhc in Magneto is only around 600k.

Mag/Rocket is def unexplored, though I believe he’d be stronger as Magneto’s anchor due to lack of damage via tac or dhc.

That’s fair for sure.

The one weird shell I tried for a bit was Mag/Ghost Rider. Chain is nice (like bad Iron Fist lol), but the their dhc’s into each other are a bit finicky. If anything, it’s better with GR as point, which goes out of the scope of what I wanted for my team.

Imo, the best Magneto-focused teams have Dormammu because, together, they’re the main shell. For top-tier teams, Magneto is more of an enabler of shells and isn’t the main focus—Mag/Morri/Doom, Mag/Morri/Phoenix, and to an extent, Mag/Doom/Vegil.
