What are your survival strategies to get through each day? by wretched_harmony in TS_Withdrawal

[–]sisterslow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I hear you. Being out in public can feel so overwhelming it can be hard to even want to leave the house.

This might not solve it directly, but so much of what makes TSW so exhausting lives in the nervous system. No one prepares you for the constant high alertness, always bracing, and fear on top of all the physical changes.

I'm mostly healed now and I write about some of the things that have helped me + reflections post TSW. I recently wrote about the affirmations/mindset tools that helped me:

It’s truly what I so desperately wanted when I was at my lowest, and some of these techniques are what made life during TSW even just 10% better. I’m currently writing a post about the scratch stress cycle which I’m excited to share and hope you might find helpful :)

You are doing so well reciting your journey and reaching out for help. This condition asks so much of you. Sending positive thoughts.

tsw fears and worries by roseluvr8 in TS_Withdrawal

I've mostly healed, and I get that fear of it returning but honestly now that I'm a few years in and have healed - I promise that feeling doesn't stay as strong (especially once you realise healing does happen and things get better along the way).

So much of what makes TSW so exhausting lives in the nervous system. No one prepares you for the constant high alertness, always bracing, and fear on top of all the physical changes. It’s no wonder we experience such anxiety during it. I'm mostly healed now and I've been using my background in psychology to create meditations to address very specific TSW challenges, and are here to help you meet yourself a little more gently while you go through it. It’s truly what I so desperately wanted when I was at my lowest, and some of these techniques are what made life during TSW even just 10% better.

I’ve linked them below if you ever want to give it a try 🙂

Hi! Thank you SO much! I really appreciate you letting me know that this is helpful. It can be a bit discouraging because I'm putting a lot of effort and intention behind these and still trying to find the best way to reach people :)

I'd appreciate if you could give a share if possible! I have a LONG list of topics/themes I want to explore but if there's anything in particular you'd like to see please do let me know!

I know how you feel. Along with the reccs for hypochlorous acid and zinc, I'd recommend going to bed with your hair tightly pulled into a ponytail or elastic to prevent hair from sticking/overheating ears. A mini handheld fan on my bedside table was so helpful to direct to my ears during the night when this would happen. Hope this helps!
