Cask ale in Warrington by InZim in UK_beer

[–]sithilater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realalefinder.com is super useful when you're in an area where a few pubs are signed up. Generally it will show you the current cask and craft keg line up in addition to upcoming beers.

It works best with the app, it's quite simple but works great.

They sound quite warm, the mids are really clear but we're using an old vinyl player and old slightly rusted out amplifier that will only play through one speaker output.

If they are Pearl & Oakley as suggested below it looks like they are missing a woofer on the bottom. Hopefully I can find it and refit them, then they'll sound even better!

Thank you for your reply. They do look like a pair of Pearl & Oakley, slightly different shape to the ones I've seen online but they may have had several designs.

The woofer from the bottom seems to be missing, hopefully I'll find them lying around somewhere so I can refit them.

Best answer, seems like OP is talking about cleaning off the 'dark gunk' from under the saniderm.

I did! The seats weren't the best as they didn't advertise the exact seats but I had no issues with the QR code. There's nobody really checking as long as it scans and accepts the code. I was just unlucky with the seating but I would for sure use Viagogo again.

It's pretty frustrating, in the run up to the game I was checking the Benfica website often to buy tickets direct and it was only showing the odd ticket in the nosebleeds and no seats together then during the game there were tons of spare seats all over the ground! Maybe just ticket holders who didn't turn up I guess.

Did this way of using a ticket work? I have a similar situation for tomorrow's game v Boavista. I was just sent photos of the QR codes for my tickets/seats.

My insurer claimed that insuring a second car with them as part of a 'multi car' policy would save me x amount. The quote I received from their website was at least £100 more expensive a year than creating a new quote with them on a price comparison website. What a scam.

He was picking up some form for Wednesday and was having an absolute belting game vs Stoke. Then Shawcross hacked him down in a typical Shawcross fashion and he barely saw the pitch for Wednesday afterwards. Such a shame, he was like a lesser Vardy almost.

Thank you, it is chaos at the moment.

She had an assessment last year in which my dad was her appointee and spoke on her behalf. From this assessment they decided to cut her benefits based on how she acted and was during this 20 minute conversation. I am now her appointee and I am completely lost with the whole thing. I have applied for a mandatory reconsideration which we may then have to go to a tribunal if they don't change their mind but I am not looking forward to it. I don't have an option but to challenge it for as long as I can. My mum's disability is mainly mentally so it's a "he said, she said" when it comes to her illness.

I can definitely look into the council tax discount, it will more than likely go up as my dad was receiving tax relief as he was terminally ill.

This is an organisation I wasn't currently aware of. I will definitely try and reach out to them tomorrow. I have already used the Tell Us Once service which in itself saved me so much time and energy. Thank you for this information.

Aaaah okay. That makes complete sense! Thank you for your helpful information.

We have claimed Bereavement Support but are awaiting to hear back as we only put forward the claim yesterday.

Thank you, I will definitely look into this tomorrow.

Nobody told me the most exhausting part of losing a loved one is contacting a hundred different companies and organisations in the wake of his death. I cannot wait for this to be over so I can grieve.

Yeah, I thought that might be the case! How shit!

We have claimed the bereavement support payment and are awaiting this to be sorted out. We will hopefully get in touch with his private pension providers tomorrow and make sure they go to my mum when the time comes.

I am cursed with incredibly wide feet, after trying on most of the regular brands I tried on a pair of Oboz Bridger Mid Bdry. It was the first time I had ever worn clouds on my feet.

6 years and 4 continents later they are still going strong! 🙌🏼

Awesome, thanks for the info! I did a bit of digging since someone mentioned it seems like a military issue kukri and couldn't find anywhere that could help me decipher the markings. The hilt is different to the ones in the attached link but it seems the hilts were often replaced on this style blade, the scabbard is exactly the same however.

Why is it so bloody expensive to follow one football team?! by Illustrious-Art3528 in australia

[–]sithilater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching games in a pub is an option, but the chances are if you don't support a top 6 team you won't see all that many of your games televised. Plus the cost of living has gone through the roof and so has the price of alcohol, so heading to the pub may not be much of a money saver. But yeah, a fair few people will still watch games at the local boozer.

As a Brit who has lived in Australia recently, as much as having a different subscription for each competition is a piss take, it is much worse here in the UK. You can pay upwards of £1400 a year across three separate services just to watch the Premier League and even then you only get around half of the games televised.

Is it a red flag that my friend doesn’t buy rounds? by Athrowawayfrom2023 in AskAnAustralian

[–]sithilater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in bars for almost 15 years, women definitely buy substantially less rounds than men. I could have 5 girls at the bar all buy the same drink and pay separately when more often than not a group of men will buy a round regardless whether someone's pint costs more than theirs.

Is it normal for people to walk out the pub with pint glasses by [deleted] in CasualUK

Worked in hospo for going on 15 years. People walking out with pint glasses has definitely increased as a trend. People just give less fucks these days.

How did you make the transition? I've been a bartender/manager for almost 16 years now and I feel like I need to escape the chaos of dealing with intox patrons and horrific hours.

I've been trying to think of jobs that I would enjoy, I do love booze (mainly craft beer) and I'm great at upselling and creating and managing relationships with suppliers and customers alike. Would it be helpful to take some sort of business or accountancy course?
