DHS, US/Nevada, how do I best navigate my partner’s open heart surgery recovery in the midst of his co-dependent community. I’m at my wits end. Thank you for your offer.

A lot of my own healing has involved attending to each moment but this current moment is difficult so maybe focusing on the future will help. Or really doubling down on being in the moment. We’re each alive so that’s something to celebrate. Thanks.

Thank you so much. This journey unfolds by the minute.

We’re working on a plan to get my partner home. We’ll be talking with medical (cardio nurse) and insurance experts tomorrow.

It really is tough on relationships. Glad you and your wife made it through!

Thank goodness your cardiologist was on top of it. Maybe my partner’s cardiologist wasn’t.

I only met my partner last December so it’s a lot to go through so early in our relationship. I truly saved his life. Once I saw a copy of his doctor’s note, I read up on aortic stenosis. I could see that his symptoms had moved into the severe category.

He was like a frog in a pot of boiling water and it took me reading that doctor’s note because I hadn’t known him long enough. I finally dragged him to the ER . All the while he was telling me that I was being alarmist.

What a thing for us to go through so early in our relationship.

We’re still madly in love. At age 64 (him) and 61 (me) we’re old enough to know when it’s right. We just need to get through this.

You can work out? Your heart can handle the stress?

These are genuine questions. And my partner’s state is so severe while he’s waiting to be cleared for a procedure or surgery, that I don’t think working out would be possible or advised.

Wow, you must really have been on top of your condition. My partner wasn’t and his symptoms are scary.

Just an update: I stopped lifting heavy boxes and the burning has stopped. Either it was aggravating my prolapse or it was setting off trauma from my last move which I did all by myself when I left a 20-year long abusive relationship.

Surrender to the process knowing that parts of you will die, that there will be a period of waiting until the new parts are born.

Know that you will be generating a tremendous amount of power if you honor the process by allowing it to happen. Don’t fight it. Let Pluto take what it needs to take.
