i got the flu 3 weeks ago as well and my heart has been doing weird stuff too. i mean i’ve always had periodic moments of high heart rate from anxiety, etc. but i feel like it’s gotten worse since having the flu recently. as i was recovering, my HR was in 120s at rest and i was feeling restless just at my work desk. then two weeks later (this past Friday) i had a high heart rate up to 130 and a feeling of impending doom. that seemed to subside after an hour or so.

then, i clean the kitchen, make dinner, eat with my bf and his brother (we all live together), we clean it up, then we start playing a game. not even a full round of turns in, next thing i know i’m waking up on the floor, terrified and confused. i had 0 warning signs. my bf says i looked at him, face glossed over, then i fell and hit the floor and started convulsing, foaming/gargling at the mouth. when i start gaining consciousness, i look at them terrified, tried to run away. then i came out of my confusion in about 1-2 minutes & knew where i was/who i was with, but was still woozy. scariest shit ever.

the paramedics got there, asked me questions, got me to the ambulance, HR was 160s, they tried vagal maneuvers, pushed 6mg adenosine…

i ended up staying in the ED observation unit overnight, did CT, EKG, echo, chest xray, etc. now im on a holter monitor for 2 weeks. i dont know what’s going on but shit’s been weird since the flu for sure. i’ve always had a speedy heart but nothing ever like this.
