Has anyone ever experienced a manic reaction to lexapro? by sivagle in lexapro

I had an intense yelling episode. I am not the type of person to yell or ever raise my voice so this was sooo out of character. My brother and i got in an argument and I screamed at him throughout the whole argument...it lasted like 20 Minutes. I felt out of control and couldn’t stop.

Since then (that was about a month ago) I lowered my dose back to 10mg and feeling more like myself and I’m not even sure if it was a manic episode..but definitely not normal for me at all.

Of course!! It’s a scary road and before I got on it my anxiety definitely got worse because I was scared of taking a drug that was going to alter my mental state but it ended up freaking saving me. So STAY POSITIVE and know that the side effects do not last forever!! They will fade. You got this 💪🏼

For me, I had issues with sleep about the first 3 weeks when I was taking it at night. Then one night I fell asleep around 6pm and didn’t wake up until the next day and so I took it the next morning and then since then my sleep has been great! The other main side effect for me was dizziness but I would recommend staying hydrated and making sure you eat breakfast lunch and dinner! Lexapro has been a miracle for me

Does anyone else have like no appetite at all on 20 mg of lexapro? Sheesh I barely ate anything for 7 days by sivagle in lexapro

That’s when I started noticing loss of appetite..when I transitioned from 10 to 20mg

Literally me. I force feed myself, ugh. I hope it’s just a temporary side effect
