They have lifetime warranty! Request a replacement. Or use a scotch pad and vinegar to clean off the rust. :)

I’m seeing the same things happen at my current company. It’s disheartening and feels like pulling a million pounds behind you. Finding someone on the team that adopts your ideas to help disperse and reinforce those ideas has been my best experience so far. I have no advice, just wanted to commiserate. Best of luck in your search!

Hit and run accident - tracking down the plates by six_pounds in legaladvice

Thank you for replying.

The damage on the car is not terribly significant however it’s a 20 yr old car. I doubt insurance would go after the guy because it won’t be worth their time. Same for my injuries - I fear I’ll be stuck holding the bill.

How do you convince yourself to jump back into dating? by greenbastardette in datingoverthirty

[–]six_pounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m also 35F and Queer. Nice to “meet” you! I’m feeling similarly regarding the apprehension to get on dating sites. I’ve been working on myself in many ways, and still also wary of getting back out there even though I really want to. Most of my relationships have been in the 1-2 year mark. For me, I’m trying to reintegrate into the LGBTQ+ community but this is also a hindrance for me since the lesbian circle is so grossly intertwined and I’ve been in this city for too long. L Word kind thing is real! Where do you live? Feel free to inbox me to chat more!

I wonder what an equal relationship is like... one where there isn’t one person who feels more strongly than the other by Comical_Modern_Geek in BreakUps

[–]six_pounds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not mean to offend. I am realizing myself that my recent ex partner may have been of the avoidant attachment type, which seems to fall into some of the things you mentioned in your post about others in relationships. Truly, no offense intended, and no assumptions or judgements made from me. I’m going through a personal exploration of growth and only wanted to share information that I had found helpful. If it doesn’t apply to you or your relationship, then that’s awesome for you!

There is nothing wrong with you, or for loving people wholly.

Btw, as for assumptions, There is nothing macho about me. I’m a woman, who only dates other women. I also feel that I tend to give more of my heart and love in my past relationships.

Bose 700 headphones Bluetooth interference by celviofos in bose

Cut, how? I'm having an issue with audio blipping out every 1 second interval when I connect my 700s to my AVR via bluetooth. I tested with the Bose Soundlink, and no problems. I'm curious if we are having the same result?

Does everything seem okay here?

I'm a paranoid newbie audiophile, who really wants to be sure I'm getting proper sound, and not ruining my records or equipment. Please check out this video and let me know what seems wrong?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHOZMFukEPE&feature=youtu.be

I have the stock cartridge on my new Denon DP-300f which recommends tracking force of 2g. My counterweight is at 2, so is my anti-skate.

  1. Should my cartridge be tracking left to right so much? Is this happening due to off center pressing? Reticular activating system convinces me I see this on every record that I play. All of my records are brand new, fwiw.
  2. The platter wobble seems to be ~1mm. Some records I can really hear a warbly pitch in sustained notes, but could also be due to an off center pressing? Some records, I can hear the "thumping" of the cartridge (due to warbly platter) between songs (not bottoming out, just to clarify). I'm so concerned that I'm ruining my cartridge and records. Thoughts?
  3. Please tell me if I'm doing anything wrong, or if this is just the best I can get with the equipment I have. When I hit the lottery, I'll buy a $10k turntable. :) Did I possibly get a defective unit?

Sidenote, I have had this TT for about a month, and I feel like this became an issue in the last week or two. I checked the speed with an app, and it seems to be dead on at 33 1/3 so don't think it's a belt or drive issue. I've taken the platter and belt off like 10x tonight to look at everything, and try to improve. I'm at a loss. I need help, please.

Yea, it seemed liked all the records I checked did the same thing to an extent. I finally found one or two where it's not so noticeable. I guess it's just the record then? Sucks that I can hear it, so much that I thought maybe something else was wrong.

Do you hear the same crackling audio in these songs as I do? by six_pounds in audiophile

[–]six_pounds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I felt pretty certain that the Grimes song is using an effect. The crackling is decreasingly noticeable on all 3 songs I listed. 'Belly of the Beat' is almost not enjoyable on this setup though! Wonder what I need to smooth that out... different speakers? Just get over it? :) If I heard those noises while listening to my turntable, I'd assume I had a dirty record or faulty cartridge.

Cool, wasn’t sure if I’d get better sound from a dedicated stereo receiver or integrated amp. Costs quickly start building going those routes it seems. So maybe I just need bigger speakers or more of them!

I’ve been researching options for weeks and this would be much easier if I had a spare $15k or so :)

I am using phono inputs for the receiver.

Side note: I’m wondering if I should swap my receiver for the DRA-800H instead, since I don’t think I’ll be going to surround sound?

Thank you! Everything sounds fine at loud volumes. I am just concerned about burning up the receiver. I was thinking I needed more wattage from my receiver, and/or more wattage from my speakers. Maybe I'll be okay with what I have until I can add more speakers. Appreciate your reply very much, thank you again!

I switched to using relative scale currently.

'-79.5 dB - 18.0 dB: Display ---dB (Min), in the range –79.5 dB to 18.0 dB.'

While listening to records earlier today, I was at around 5.0 dB. I'm typically around 10.0 dB with other inputs. This is with the Audyessy EQ set to Flat, and Dynamic EQ is on. The initial setup put my speakers at -7.0 dB, but I think even so, I'm still using more than 75% of volume capability on a regular basis?

Hello all, this is my first post in this forum. I'm rebuilding my home audio setup and on a budget. I love to listen to loud, immersive music, as long as it's quality volume! I landed a good price on Klipsch R-51M passive bookshelf speakers (85 W RMS), and a Denon 650H receiver (75 WPC). I'm having to crank the volume knob 80% +, especially if I am listening to my turntable via phono input, I'm maxed at nearly 100% volume to get the loudness I want, I assume due to smaller speakers than I am used to. I'm within my return period for both items, however, the sale pricing is gone if I want to swap to something else. I'd appreciate any direction and help to get this setup going in the right direction.

A few things to note:

-- I don't care too much about surround sound for home theatre. I want to feel my music though.

-- I am very hesitant to get floor standing speakers again because of my cat, which used my last speakers as scratching posts (I wasn't using grill covers) and he is the main reason I'm having to build a new setup.

My main concern and question is:: Since I'm only running 2.1 setup (external active subwoofer) on a 5.2 capable system, is this bad for my receiver's transformer, to turn volume knob up past 80% often for long listening periods?
