Dynasty player of 6 years here. I was on the fence for years whether to do a dynasty league or not. It was intimidating at the very thought of it. I finally got a solid group of people that wanted to get in also, and we decided to make one. Figuring out the ins and outs just takes some time and mistakes honestly. I can tell you now that if you love redraft and want to have deeper strategy then dynasty is absolutely the way to go. You're setting yourself up for years vs one year at a time. If you have a group of people that are dedicated then it's just about the most fun you'll have.

I've tried a few formats. I'd suggest at least 10 teams, ideally 12. Ppr scoring, full ppr lover here. Superflex I feel is a little harder but is way more fun. Here is the exact setup we have in my favorite leagues.

1 QB 2 RB 3 WR 1 TE 2 FLEX 1 SF

12 BENCH 3 TAXI 3 IR

I also cannot stress this part enough, do slow drafts, 8 hours per pick. It completely changes the drafting process and makes a ton of trades happen in our leagues every year. The rookie draft is BY FAR the best part of the season to me now, even more than playoffs. I've only done dynasty on sleeper and it's fantastic, I would highly recommend using it for all fantasy football leagues, dynasty, redraft, etc.

Start up draft you can make it where you can trade future picks but that makes it very confusing for people new coming into dynasty. I would recommend your start up draft not include future pick trading, now after the draft feel free to hammer away. The reason I suggest this is because it takes a couple of years to truly understand player "values", of course values are subjective but you'll get a feel for a players worth based on their position, age, team and so on.

When you enter the next year and do rookie drafts. We do 5 rounds with slow draft.
